Ted Price, head of Resistance developer Insomniac Games, has told Game Informer that the new policies will allow developers the freedom to update more regularly than was possible on Xbox 360.

”On this generation, it’s difficult to have a connection to players where we are getting information including likes and dislikes or actions and then respond quickly,” Price said. “The hardware and the publishing policies prevent that kind of response when it comes to consoles.”

any way we get updates/patches quick fixes im all for it. i hate getng a game that is "broken" and waiting weeks for a patch becuse they wat to do as little as they can and do big patches..

some daily patches for quick and easy stuff makes it allot easier to grasp. will fix the bugs and loopholes gamers find to cheat..

Maybe this kind of thing can put some of the restlessness of gamers to rest. Since everyone and their brother is busy worrying about that actual integrity of the thing ever since all those rumors started spreading around about the Xbox One. I mean maybe all of that stopped now but still, every little thing Microsoft does might help to lower some of the tensions which were raised originally.

I think @Torisaur makes a decent point. Hopefully MS showing that their insistence on constant connections and 24Hr updates is truly for the benefit of us a customers and for developers to be able to roll out consistent and quick updates will lower the tensions people are having around the whole thing.

I'm still not personally too convinced by it but, I do remember buying Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 and before I Could play it I had to download over an hours' worth of updates! It was a total killer for me as I was so excited to get on a play the game. Games updating while we sleep could stop all of this I suppose?
