Microsoft reported record revenue earnings today for the company's second quarter, with $24.52 billion in net revenue and $6.56 billion in net income. During the quarter, which ended Dec. 31, Microsoft sold 3.9 million Xbox One consoles and 3.5 million Xbox 360 consoles, the company said.

Microsoft saw double digit growth in its Devices and Consumer division, with revenue growing 13 percent to $11.91 billion. The division includes the company's Xbox business, Surface, Windows Phone and more.

Well that's certainly some healthy growth. We can only hope that some of these profits are used to lock down some more exclusives and maybe even some first party studios; this would truly be the only way for MSFT to stay competitive with Sony going forward.

That's right. Microsoft has to spawn some exclusives. most of the "best-of" 360 games I see are just third-party games which I either have on PC or PS3. I want that exclusives; the games that make you go, "Damn, I am getting the console for this!". Xbox One so far is getting to that move already with stuff like Ryse and Dead Rising 3.

Well, not bad at all. That's a lot to sell. May not be as much as PS4 but still does well. And I agree, they need to secure more exclusives. We need them. Third-party games are cool but we need the games that emit that "Xbox One" vibe. The kind of games that just make you want an Xbox One. Show us more man|!

Good that Microsoft is doing so well. These figures could only mean that Microsoft still have a competitive edge over the other competitions. This also means that the Xbox has a huge install base and this will definitely attract more 3rd party developers to work on Xbox. Keep up the good work and we are sure that there will be no shortage of games and support for the Xbox.

Those are some fine numbers. Not to mention, it seems like a good portion of xbox players are still on the 360, waiting to upgrade, so we'll see quite a few more sales in the future.

Wow, 25 billion in revenue...their electronics (phone and tablet specifically) must be doing very well. Not to mention how insane it is that they moved 7.4 million consoles in a single quarter. Does this make Bill Gates the richest man again?

I can totally agree. Well guess it shows Microsoft is doing something right. Now, we need to see Sony's numbers next. But let's all clap for Microsoft. They did well last year.

True, true. Eventually, the 360 buyers will soon upgrade to the X1. Yup, this new generation has really surprised everyone. We thought it was going to be a bit down than the last one but wow.... the initial reaction has been great.

Wow, Microsoft is getting back in the game. The Xbox is really keeping them alive. They took a big hit when people started going Mac and everyone was saying their software was outdated. Way to go Microsoft.

Yeah, So cool that they are back on track. I hope to see more improvements this year now that they are releasing more games.
