We've all done stupid things while gaming. Sometimes it's not your fault and you can at least leave the game knowing it just wasn't your day. But other times you realize too late that you just epic failed and may never live it down as long as you live. Some of you may only have these moments once in a great while. But I seem to be leaving a legacy of these moments. This is the one that comes to mind.

I was playing "Left 4 Dead" on a team of random players. It quickly became apparent we were out skilled in most aspects and the other team was fully taking advantage of our lack of communication. Which is what you're SUPPOSED to do when you get that chance. We were at the end of the stage when my teammates decided to bail, leaving me alone as the infected to die by myself. I decided to stick it out, because I always hate when people rage quit and the other team deserved the victory. I was playing as the hunter and crouched down hoping to inflict SOME damage before my ultimate demise. All of a sudden I become the Tank and I realize that, although I'm still not going to win, at least I can take them all out with a little luck and sheer power. So I drop down and start running around, but something wasn't right. I was moving so slow. Sluggish. Like I was in quicksand. The other team simply surrounded me, easily avoiding any attack I tried to make, and killed me quite quickly for the easy win.

Back in the lobby I could hear them laughing as I was giving them my "Good game guys" exit speech. Then they asked me the following question...."Why were you crouched down as the Tank? It's not a stealth game"! I then realized when I became the Tank, I was still crouched from being the hunter and NEVER even considered that option. How embarrassing.

The good news is I still play other games with those guys. They added me to their friends list. But they still bring that up from time to time. :o

Any moments of gaming fail you'd like to share? I won't judge considering my track record lol.

Hmm... Well its not an XBox game but the game I play best is CounterStrike. We had a clan match in college around an year back and being one of the better players in my team I am expected to lead during rushes. While being 6-3 down as CT in de_dust2 and low on cash, we decided to go for a mid-rush. I was supposed to lead with a flashbang and then nade them if they were going to the A bombsite.

It started out pretty well. They saw that we were rushing and all of them stayed mid to take us out which meant they were completely flashed after I threw the flashbang. Sadly, I ended up mistiming it and flashing myself and half the team as well. Still, realising that they were flshed too, I threw the nade which then proceeded to hit a wall and fell right near my team. Its pretty much difficult killing yourself with your own nade. My flashed self ended up pulling that ignominious achievement off. Not to mention doing at least some damage to the rest of my team.

We were massacred that round as soon as they regained vision and ended up losing the half 11-4 and then the entire game 16-10. An year on and they still haven't let me forget that. :p

LOL. I grenade myself unintentionally all the time in games.Thankfully it rarely effects my team. Rarely. It does happen on occasion though and, much like your friends, they never let me forget. "Hey, remember, we're on the same team. DO NOT throw grenades at us". :)

This wasn't on an Xbox but it was on PS3. However, it was the worst for me so it's worth sharing anyway... I was at a friend's house playing Demon's Souls on his PS3 (since I really need to play that game and I don't have PS3 myself). There's this one ridiculously easy boss called Dragon God in which all you have to do is hide behind some walls and break some pillars but the thing is that I died about 20 times before I even understood which wall I had to hide behind at first. My friend was making comments like "I can't believe the crap I'm seeing now" and "you just owned the insanely hard Flamelurker and now you're having issues with the extremely easy Dragon God, what the hell!?".

Man, when I realized how dumb the boss fight actually was...

It's how simply the actually puzzle is that makes it so hard.
You might be lucky and pass through it with no problem, but if for some reason he decides to throw a punch just cause, then you are dead and back to the beginning. Specially the last part, where you have to not get hit by the flames.

Okay...one of the most embarrassing things to happen to me in my gaming career...here it goes.

I was playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and there was this mission in which we had to climb up a building and then it was open from the top so we had to go inside and assassinate someone. Climbing was of course no problem and I did it in seconds...the going down however...I just couldn't for the life of me figure out how to climb down inside the building. I tried it a ton of times and fell to my death everytime.

And there was my 8 year old cousin and my brother who was spectating me play. Then I gave up and went to get some pizza for us from the fridge. And when I came back there Ezio was...inside the building. I asked my brother how this happened and it turned out my 8 year old cousin just tried it once and did it.

Wow..

My most significant and embarrassing gaming fail was on Call of Duty MW3 Search and Destroy game type.

For those of you who do not know how the game type works, Attacking team plants bomb and explodes to win or kill all defending team. Defending team wins by defusing planted bomb or killing all attacking players.

The game is tied up 3-3 and whoever wins next round wins the game. So I was on the defending team and my whole team except me gets killed. The enemy team ends up planting the bomb and it's up to me to kill the 6 remaining opponents and defuse the bomb. Since i'm just an amazing player, I decimate all the remaining enemies with my gun. I can't deny I get arrogant at times, so with that in mind I humiliate the enemy bodies. I was knifing and shooting their corpses multiple times to my liking, then watching the bomb timer I headed over to defuse the bomb. I'm less than a second from defusing then my controller dies and I get killed by the bomb.

The mockery and comments I received from my team and enemy team was endless. I felt like a true dumb ass that day.

I didn't do this but I was sent the youtube video and we all cringed.

A guy was playing dark souls and streaming it and he had around 6 million souls. He was invaded and he ended up being killed. That happens. Well, he was on his way back to go recover his stuff when he realized he had forgotten to turn human. So he tried to back jump off the elevator he was on but he was already moving up. He ended up falling down and dying.

He lost 6 million souls...just...like...that...

I actually have a few heh.

I was playing Black ops 2 a couple of weeks ago, and I called in a Lightning Strike. The only person I managed to kill was myself, considering everyone else was in-doors.

I also remeber during the first times playing that game, I got an RCXD. I was new to it so I was driving around looking for sometime to blow up. I saw someone kneeling behind a trash can so I was like "oh, easy kill", but I instantly realized it was me. Too late. To add injury to insult, the final kill cam happened nearly simultaneously AND near that location. I know right, what are the odds? So the kill cam showed someone gunning down a player, while my little RCXD boosted towards it's owner and exploded. *sigh*

mine has to be in bad company.Me and a few friends were playing rush and knowing that there was a group of guys in a building so I went to toss a nade into the building...from like 20 yards....and it hit a flag pole...bounced off back towards me...which I then proceeded to run into...while one of my friends watched via a sniper and tell everyone in the party...you know...inbetween laughs

There is nothing quite like the terrible feeling of scoring on yourself in NHL14. Goalmouth scramble, everyone's digging for the puck, I rush in to try and poke it to the half boards, OOPS five hole, sorry goalie. The last time it happened to me, it was the game winning goal. Dug my own grave and laid in it on that day.

It's not exactly Xbox related, but in a lot of my online football-type games I always tend to assist the enemy team. For example, I play S4 League and I keep on pushing the enemy team into the goal on accident. Every time I do I leave for the lobby before I hear any of the insults lmao

Most of my failures have come from many Call Of Duty games over the years. Some of them so amazingly horrible, I will take them to the grave lol! I've played with friends who change the game type when I take a bathroom break. I don't pay enough attention and jump in thinking it's Cap the Flag, but it's Seek and Destroy or something. It's really hard to do well when you don't know the rules!

It's somewhat harder nading yourself in CS than in COD. The grenade has to land exactly where you are standing for it to kill you and not just do some damage. In a clan match when everyone is doubly careful it becomes even more difficult. One has to be incredibly unlucky to kill themselves AND damage their team with just one nade. :o

Puzzle games get me. I get really impatient. One of the Penumbra game's was infuriating for me because I just couldn't get out of this room. It was something stupidly easy, like putting a stick into the fire to create smoke or something.
