Mouse and keyboard not working inside fortnite games

I connected my mouse to the USB ports on the Xbox. They both work on the Fortnite lobby, but they both do not work inside a fortnite game. We tried enabling "lock input method as mouse" setting, and it still does not work. How do I fix it?
