Xbox One My first issue with the Xbox One.

I recently had an issue with my Xbox One. Not really the console, but the kinect. It had worked fine prior to the time it happened, was able to recognize me and respond to my voice. I left it idle for about an hour which is common sometimes when I play it throughout the day. After I came back from it being idle I noticed it said kinect is unplugged. I checked all the ports everything was plugged in properly, I troubleshooted it. After nothing work I called Microsoft, its a hardware issue not that common but has happened a lot lately. After about 10 minutes and 10 dollars I have them advance ship me a new one, only took 2 days so that was impressive, and I send my burned out one to them. The new one works perfectly fine, besides that little issue my Xbox1 is the greatest thing I've owned.
 
10 dollars? How did you pay that little for it? However, I'm glad to hear that you've had your problem solved :).
 
It probably the fee for the advance shipment, so they send you the replacement first and you then ship them the faulty one back.
Otherwise you would first need to ship the bad one to them and only then they ship you the good one.
 
It was 10 dollars for the advanced shipping, they put a hold of 129.99 on my account until they recieved the defected kinect. They were actually very helpful and better service than previously with the 360. :p
 
Sorry to hear you had trouble with the system but it's great to hear that their customer support helped you out and you were able to get it for so cheap! Hopefully that won't happen again.
 
Things like these can always happen. If don't open the console and 'look under the hood', the warranty is still going to be available and you will be able to replace anything for free or for 10 dollars, which isn't that much after all.

I guess they are more helpful now because of the fact that the console is way more expensive than 360.
 
Well the fee is just so that you get it done faster than normal, so you can just consider it an "express service fee".
You could get it done for free, but it won't be "express" :)
 
So I guess it's a matter of luck. You might end up with the best Kinect or the worst Kinect. So better to ship out the faulty and ship in a new one.

I guess you're right, but still the whole thing depends on how you think.
 
This has bee a common trend.

The Kinect sucks. You are not alone everyone has been having issues with the Kinext. Just do a Google search, the forum are littered with complaints about it. I do not know how Microsoft managed to screw this up so bad. I know that systems have their fair share of issues upon release, but i never expected this many issues.

They did not even make an effort to produce any games for the thing. Total failure by Microsoft.

Hmm in a sense yes, it's a total failure.
