Xbox One New to XBOX One, should I get one?

I've yet to purchase an Xbox one, but I'm considering it due to how great it is. Can anyone give me advice? Is it truly a Microsoft masterpeice or a piece of futuristic trash?

I suppose I was going for satrire and I didn't do a good job. Can you explain the difference between the elite and the original Xbox one? I'm really confused now.

the price is cheap on the xb1.... what are they 299 now or something crazy like that... no reason to bother with a 360 as the xb1 is doing backwards compatibility..
