So sad to hear that Disney is closing down LucasArts. I never played the Star Wars games, but I have such fond memories of laughing till my stomach hurt at Sam & Max and Day of the Tentacle when I was a kid. And no more Monkey Island?! It's such a shame...

They’re closing it down? That’s a real shame, I really enjoyed the Monkey Island games even though I was a bit of a latecomer to the series and I was looking forward to more “Guybrush Threepwood, mighty pirate!”.

Even though they're closing it down, couldn't they still continue making the games, just under the Disney name instead of the LucasArts name? I hope they decide to do that.

You would hope so wouldn't you? Surely they must realize how popular Monkey Island is? Though I don't think I'd want them to 'Disneyize' it in any way - I love the big D, but don't think its visual style would improve what is already an iconic series with a distinct look.

Oh, I agree that they would be smart NOT to change it. People are used to the way LucasArts did things. I don't see how they can do it without SOME change, though, if they let go of all the LucasArts people.

The thing that worries me is where are my favorite IPs going. All the classic adventure games from the company, where are they going now? Who is going to own them and will reboot them to another bad FPS?

Maybe it's better if they all just disappear and keep existing as old memories.
