...is awesome. And it is apparently now available on Games on Demand if you couldn't get a retail copy.

I want a next gen version already...make it open world!

Just noticed that this game launched on Games on Demand for $34.99 where the retail version is $39.99.

Promising for my hope that digital sales will pass the savings on to consumers in the next gen marketplace.

And yes, I have bought it both ways myself now. Giving my physical copy to my brother-in-law to get in on some of the co-op action.

What would you expect from an open-world game? I mean are you looking for random missions or what would an open-world model promise you OP? Personally, I liked Payday alright, but it wasn't enough to get me interested in Payday 2.

How's the game? The first Payday looked like a Left 4 Dead rip-off with robbers and coppers, is this any different?

I would say that Left 4 Dead is better at what it does. It seems the developers promised a lot of stuff, but the game only has 70% of it. But if you like the game and like playing the same thing over and over, grinding for new equipment, by all means, get it, specially if you have a bunch of friends to play with.

I was thinking that you would be able to make it more immersive with an open world. You could have getaway drivers, hideouts, and heat level. As it is currently there is a lot of challenge in trying to get away with as much loot as possible, but if you knew that the longer you took and the louder you were about it then it would make the getaway that much harder. You could also get different agencies involved in investigating your cases so that future missions would become more difficult if you were careless about being seen and heard. It would also help to bring some significance to the end-game of the offshore bank account which as of now is entirely pointless.

After playing it for a while now, I have found some issues with it, but I still think it is great co-op fun.

Was the first game only about robbing banks? I won't spoil anything, but I will say that there is a decent variety of 'jobs' in Payday 2, but still not nearly enough to keep anyone playing it for more than a few weeks at best.

I find the game just mediocre to play. I only find this game fun whenever I play with friends. Half the time I don't even play since my friends aren't online playing it.

Well vertigo1 it sounds like you want them to incorporate something of the reputation/fame system from Fable by way of the Star system from GTA. I personally think that your idea has definite merit, but again the game in and of it's self just doesn't have enough to it for me.

I personally loved Payday for the theme of it. It really made it feel as if you were a band of master thieves and the sound for everything was amazing. The guns could have had some better sounds and feeling but it was still great! It really feels like they wouldnt be able to make a 3rd one though, the gameplay is technically just nothing but an FPS and what you really want is the experience of the heists. I guess not changing gameplay much could still get sales though considering how Call of Duty does. (Sadly)

When playing with other humans, this game is great fun! I tried it solo a couple times and was not too impressed. The AI is good at shooting things and running to get you up if you go down, but other than that they're about as useless as a blonde at a spelling bee.

Considering the digital copy was only $35, I can say it was a good deal. There's always random people to play with if your friends aren't playing and, for the most part, they're all in it to win it like you are. It doesn't take a big learning curve to pick up the game and find your place in a gang either. I'd recommend it!

Yeah Payday is definitely not one of the games that you want to play solo haha. Its like playing solo Left for Dead. Its alright and stuff but it just isnt the same :(

HA! I played Left 4 Dead solo before. That might even be worse than playing this game alone lol. I would scream at the screen "Damn you Louis, GET ME UP!!!!" lol

Hahaha! Yeah the Left 4 Dead bots were soooo dumb. I remember when me and my friend used to play it with each other all the time and the other 2 were bots, we would always make fun of them. Even though they were really annoying they sure are funny if you have someone with you!

It's one of the best coop game ever made. I can't believe that ts game is so underrated.

It is an awesome game. I only have the demo but I love it. The shooting could be better as I can't get the sensitivity just right but that doesn't matter. I just love the game all over. I must buy this game soon though. I also like it where your team sort of follows you. It is good that they are not right up your ass but it is good that they are not miles away.
