Not hard controls, but Capcom always had odd controls that took me awhile to master for games like Onimusha, early Resident Evil, and Dino Crisis. The thing that made them odd for me at the time was that you had to turn in a direction before moving in that direction instead of the standard left analog moves and right points the direction/sight. I haven't bothered with RE in ages so I'm sure they probably changed that to something reasonable by now.
