Xbox 360 Rage: A bit underrated

I personally really enjoyed Rage. I can understand a lot of the criticisms, such as a lack of enemy variety, overly predictable AI, emphasis on racing when it's not one of the game's strong suits, deceptively linear despite seeming open, among other things. However, if you can look past the faults, the things this game does well aren't to be ignored. The shooting mechanics are tight, the game looks good, (a little washy, but still very good) the animations are good, and most importantly, it's fun. Despite the predictable nature of the enemies, they're a blast to fight, and there's a good variety of ways to dispatch them. This is one of those games that you have to try for yourself to appreciate it, so try the demo on XBL if you're on the fence.

I like that the graphics are nice looking considering it's a game that runs at 60FPS on the 360. But I haven't played much, it doesn't really FEEL good. It feels like a crappy mix of Borderlands/modern Fallout (and I love both of these). I need to properly play through it before I can form a real opinion, but it just didn't seem all that great from what little I did play.

No matter what the reviews say, I still love the game. The only problem I have with it is that the feel of the character you are controlling is sticky and slow.

I have to agree with the criticisms of this game. The bad seems to outweigh the good and it pretty much lost me. Maybe I'll try to keep an open mind and give it another shot.

I don't think the characters feel slow and sticky (whatever that means). I also really like the game. I feel like the weapons are spot-on. Nothing bothers me more in a game than crappy weapons.

I'm glad there are others who also enjoyed Rage. :D
To add to my OP, there's a lot of unfulfilled potential that Rage had, so I hope they take what they got right and make Doom 4 one of the best games ever made. A sequel to Rage would also be nice, but I want Doom 4 first.
