Xbox One Reasons why the Xbox One is better than the PS4

I have had mine since since Day One and honestly a lot of things that made me choose the Xbox One over the PS4 are gone for me.

Some of the reasons I choose the Xbox One was kinect looked sweet in all the demos, tv features/giude, snap windows, apps and everything all in one. Of course games and online multiplayer are a big reason too.

As of today, months later, I stopped using kinect due to no games and lots of problems, the TV guide and controls are OK but not all I thought they would be so I don't really use them anymore, snap windows I use a little but not enough to really care if it is there or not, apps are still nice but some are hard to use with the controller so I usually end up just using the ones in my TV or TiVo instead.

Game selection is OK for a new system, but seems the majority of them are 3rd person perspective and I am starting to feel like I am playing the same game except with a different background and enemies. Even though I have about 15 games I am playing about 1/4 what I did at launch.

So now I use it only for games which takes away a lot of reasons I first bought it.

Seeing as I've played both, and enjoyed them, the only real reasons I can list are;

Snap Feature which is nice that you don't have to completely exit the game to do other tasks.

Mic Quality is amazing. Very glad they went with the skype codec.

As for everything else, the PS4 and ONE are pretty much identical machines, albeit a bit less powerful then it's competitor.

What can I say? In terms of what the Xbox One can do, it definitely is better than the PS4. There are most useful updates and features on the Xbox One than on the PS4. It plays more format than the PS4, it can also stream PS4 games through its input/output. And in my opinion the best of all, the Xbox One supports external hdd which the PS4 can't.

I am not a Sony guy, never had any version of the Playstation, but I don't know really.

The PS4 you can upgrade the internal HD up to 6tb and get a faster one or even SSHD or SSD. You just copy
the games to a usb flash drive, put the OS on the new HD and put the games back on.

I apologize about the PS4 talk here, I just been reading up on it as a couple of my friends just got them.

Yeah, I know the PS4 allows us to change the hdd but it's still not as convenient than just plug in an external hdd. Only allowing internal hdds means that once you decide to change to another hdd, you'll have to reinstall everything from scratch including your user profiles and the firmware.

Each time I see threads like this I wonder what would happen if all of us had enough money to afford buying both systems and the games to play on them. In that ideal scenario I think most people would stop comparing the specs and just play the damn games :p Me, I think that both the XBox One and PS4 are great pieces of hardware. Sure, there are differences like we already see listed in this thread, but I'm more interested in the games.

Yeah, I agree. Both systems offer great experiences and both have their shortcomings. My favorite thing about the XB1 is its commitment to updating its firmware almost every month. This shows that Microsoft cares about their product and the fanbase. They might have tripped up from the start of the XB1 launch, but they seem to be trying hard not to get it wrong going forward.

I started out as a Playstation gamer, owning the original Playstation and then the PS2. I bought a 360 back when 360 and PS3 were new just because it cost less ($100 less I think). Ever since, I have been an Xbox gamer because the game selection is better. So that's the big one for me, even comparing the One to the PS4 -- game selection.

its just better to me.. i think they are semi similar in "power" and graphics at this point.. ive just always played on an xbox so its what i go with.. ive had ps1-ps2 and just never had the same experiances with them as i have my 360/xbox and xb1.. and i was never really a multiplayer till i got on the xb1.. i did almost no multiplayer on forza4.. i hated horizon so i solo'ed that.. but the xb1 has felt at home with me.. i use it for allot.. twitch, netflix, amazon i like i can jump in and out.. idk to me im just an xbox guy i guess..

I can get both if I wanted to actually but I chose not to. I have both the 360 and PS3 last gen but ended up only using one, the 360 while my PS3 sits in my cabinet collecting dust. The thing is that most games are multiplats, and there are only a handful of exclusives so it's a waste of money to own both. The best is to just look at the exclusives down the line and pick the console that'll have the games I want to play the most.

I have never owned a Playstation and I really do not have a lot of excess $, but I decide to take the plunge and just ordered a PS4 with Killzone and Second Son. I ordered it from a place that has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee so if I am not happy I can just return it. If I am happy enough I will keep both systems or who knows maybe sell one or the other down the road. It should be here Tuesday.

I read a lot of comparison reviews, watched a lot of YouTube videos, talked to a lot of friends, but I don't think anything can really beat having both to see for yourself on your own equipment.
