My impression from the demo is that RE 6 took a few steps forward, but many more back. I thoroughly enjoyed RE 4 and thought RE 5 was decent, albeit misguided, but in many ways, RE 6 is a mess. The camera isn't very functional, which would be fine in an RE game, but it is a nuisance for gameplay in this case given that two of the campaigns are basically third person shooters. There has been a patch, but since I've only played the demo, I can only comment on the broken original camera. The gameplay is alright for Leon's campaign, as it feels like a combination of the new and old style RE games, but the menus are a mess and it feels far too linear. As for the campaigns for Jake and Chris, as I said earlier, they feel like third-person shooters, and bad ones at that. I'd pick this game up for $10 or less just for Leon and Ada's campaigns, but the others are just painfully bad. As a long-time RE fan, I have to call it as I see it; the negativity surrounding RE 6 is definitely justified.
