Xbox One Rise of the Tomb Raider is now officially Xbox One exclusive.

Yup, Microsoft's Gamescom has announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will only be available on the Xbox One. Pretty exciting news for sure. What are your thoughts on this, guys? Are you a fan of Tomb Raider? I don't think the game is going to ship Xboxes but an exclusive is an exclusive.

i seen the live stream yesterday at games con.. it looked decent.. not sure why its such a big exclusive other than microsoft allowing them to remaster or tweek the last tomb raider which wasn't highly accepted or liked...

I played the Tomb Raider reboot last time and thought the game is pretty good but not great. I'm a fan of the old Tomb Raider games so the new reboot wasn't what I liked. The last game didn't sell that well according to some so I don't know why Microsoft would buy up the exclusivity of all games. I wonder if it's going to be timed exclusive or forever exclusive because the way they announced it was kind of sketchy.

This is ironic.. Considering tomb raiders past.. PS1 and PC exclusive for years..

It's been confirmed that Rise of the Tomb Rider is a timed exclusive. From what I gather the announcement was badly formulated and the gaming press understood it's a forever exclusive. For Tomb Rider to become an exclusive, considering how the game started, would have been quite a shift for Square.

Yup, just found out a while ago. Phil Spencer confirmed that they only hold the exclusivity for a few months just like Dead Rising 3 and Ryse. I should've known by the way they worded it "exclusive holiday 2015" instead of "only on Xbox One" or something like that. Kind of makes it pointless seeing that Tomb Raider isn't really the game worth getting a console for especially when it's going to go to other platforms.

Oh cool. Love the new series wide reboot. I like how now we are playing Lara as a "novice adventurer/archeologist" instead of an experienced action girl like in the past games. I hope the new reboot and this game will be selling well. The franchise has gone through some really bad days......hopefully that's all in the past now.

I don't see how this game is an Xbox exclusive? I've heard that it will come later onto other platforms as well. They also said that Dead Rising 3 and Ryse were exclusives, but they eventually came to the PC. And, I'm excited for the game. I liked the last Tomb Raider game and I'm looking forward to this. I hope it has more content, though.
