Its combat system isn't the greatest and its pacing is inconsistent, but for those who put in the time to see all Risen has to offer, it's an experience that won't be forgotten.

There's a great role-playing game here, but it's hiding behind a terrible interface and clunky combat.

I had to give it a 3 because I got basically all of the achievements but for some reason I barely remember the game. So, I guess that means it was good enough to play through and work on the achievements but just not a memorable game. If you pick up a copy for a good price and have some time to kill it'd be worth playing, just don't expect a game that wows or makes you want to keep coming back for more.

Gave it a 4, I like RPG's in general and really enjoyed Risen too, the storyline is pretty good in my opinion but the combat could have been way better. But walking around the world making your own choises and joining a faction you want to join was pretty sick, because you get to apply your own morals and values the game makes you want to finish it.
