Xbox One Select XB1 Users Get Early Patch Access (UPDATED)

Microsoft announced today that it's sending out invites to select Xbox One users to preview new features coming in the March update for the home console.

"Selected participants will receive an Xbox Live message with a token to register," Major Nelson posted on the Xbox website. "The next system update will begin rolling out next week to those who will preview the new features. Once registered, participants will be able to test the early features included in the update and provide feedback on a private forum and can opt out of future waves."

The March update will greatly enhance the multiplayer and party experiences for Xbox One, according to Microsoft. Specific improvements that the company noted include getting to the friends list faster, chatting with friends who are playing other games and turning party chat on by default.

I actually just got the invitation a little while ago and still have not installed it, but I'm excited to be invited into the program. I will be sure to post my impressions on here if I'm allowed. I think having a program of beta testers like this is a nice touch and I hope MSFT continues to be so forward thinking in the future. Did you get invited as well? Well, nice to know that MSFT is allowing users to have access to some features. It'll give them the right feedback to see how the features should do for the others.
 
Wow. Really, I haven't had any invitations about this new patch. Well I might have to check with my friends about this. But yeah, this is good news. Microsoft is getting into the hype now. More updates please.
 
Well after toying around with the new features given to me in early access I can happily say it is a welcomed improvement. The party system is exactly what I wanted it to be and the friends men is perfectly organized and easy to sort through. The search friends feature is handy and the fact that you can see how many friends are online and how many "favorites" are online from you home screen is great.
 
I have had it for 3 days now and i like it honestly friends list didnt get improved a whole lot just a couple features added like drop down arrows and a little organization to make it look sleeker...the party i have yet to try cause all my friends either werent on at the time or i wasnt so lol but i have seen vids on it and it looks nice

Well before there were no sorting options and now we have three of them. Not to mention the search option and the fact yo can see who's online from the home screen. Also online friends are all up front.
 
So people without the inv have to wait for the update ? -.-

That's something that some of us have to deal with. Well yeah, it's just a few more days left so we just have to bear with it. Anyways, we will have it in no time.

Just a few more days to get and we'll eventually get the update.
 
Too bad I'm not part of the special people who will get it. Well I just have to wait a little longer to have it anyways.

i logged in today around lunch and was not prompted to download or install anyupdate...
same with bf4... supposably a 33item patch was launched but i have played last 2 days with 0 prompt to download ..

this is one of those things that annoys me about xb1... it may download a patch while off/sleep mode but your not alerted to anything. it also does not show the install/specs.. i would love for microsoft to post it in your recent activity/top left stream when you logg in.. it could give the download/update and if you clicked on it should give a run down of what it intalls/fixes/adds

i would personally like this for games as well. when you get a promo code it unlocks ability to download for free but it does not download the said product.. you still have to go in and capture it from the app store.. or so it has seemed for me. the only dlc/code that went direct was fora5 vip status when installed... the other stuff i had to go in and download.

I got mine when I got home around 4am cst after work.
 
Just got home and finally started downloading this update. I'm now 10% on the download.

Mine didn't prompt me for any updates yet. I guess I have to reboot.
