I was recently going for my Big Baller achievement, and I was hard-pressed to get it because this map kept handing my butt to me. I'm generally good at zombies, but World at War is fairly brutal, with the exception of Der Riese. However, I did eventually find a strategy that got me the achievement, and it's fairly simple if you're familiar with making trains. For the early rounds, you can approach it many ways, but my preferred method is to move out at round 3-4 and grab a Thompson. Two body shots + a knife kill on round 3, and 3 shots + a knife on round 4, and I like to do this because knife kills are worth 130. On rounds 5+, I try to get as many headshots as possible, because they're the next best thing.
Find Juggernog as early as possible; it's crucial to surviving on this map. The random nature of the perks is a little frustrating, and you'll usually only get a 1/4 chance of getting it before the first dog round. Speaking of dogs, this is my strategy, and it's static throughout the match: behind the original box spawn, there is a little space with a window; camp there and kill them as they come, as they have to funnel in and only come in twos. Keep this paradigm going until you have all of your desired perks and good weapons; Nog is extremely important, Speed Cola is also very important, especially for dogs, and Double Tap is conditionally good, but not really required.
The beauty of the Thompson is that you can get ammo refills for it, so it's good to use until you can get good weapons from the box. There are two ways you can go about this: An MG or Browning + a Thompson, or a Wunderwaffe + an LMG, Alright, on to the strategy: run around outside the Comm Room and form trains. Try not to get caught, and don't dare run through the swamp area if it seems risky. When you have a full train, you can trap them or get a good distance away and get out your LMG or Wunderwaffe and mow them down. The light weapon (Thompson or Wunderwaffe) is for training and getting a good distance away, and your crowd controller (LMG or Wunderwaffe) is for.. well.. controlling the crowd. The LMG method will get you Big Baller faster if that's what you're after, and it's great for Deadhead as well. The Wunderwaffe, despite its size, is actually light and gives your player plenty of mobility.
Bouncing Betties are also very helpful, and always recommended; they are extremely helpful for dogs. You get two of them at the start of every round, and Max Ammos do not resupply them like in Black Ops 1 and 2.
Try to be somewhat close to the main building at the end of every round in case the next round is dogs so you can get to the little nook in time. Always use your LMG or Wunderwaffe on them, but be careful if you're using the latter. That's about it; you should be able to get quite far using this strategy. I gave up due to boredom in the 40s, because I was just after the achievements.
