Below you will find Sims 3 cheats. Cheats typically create an advantage beyond normal gameplay, usually to make the game easier.

Sims 3 Unlockables/Cheats

Load your family in a house, hit START and hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2; it will say that Spoot is now available under "Decor Miscellaneous". Place him in your lot to unlock cheat mode. Note: Using cheats will disable challenges and achievements.So save your neighborhood before the entering this cheat. You can resume the game later without cheats enabled.

Magic Llama Cheats
To unlock the magic cheating Llama, hold down L1, L2, R1, R2 at the start menu, .

Free Money
Go to "..." in bottom left-hand corner. Click "Help" and "About." Scroll down to "Gardening Tips." Once you're there, shake you're iPhone/iPod touch. Each time will earn you around $500!

Easter Eggs

EA game references
When you have the video game system and your Sims play it, zoom in on the TV to see that the games they are playing are various Electronic Arts titles.

Spore reference
Have a Sim reach the top painting level to have the ability to create masterpieces. One of the paintings that can be created is that of a creature from Spore.

I use these cheats on off-families. Only because I don't like cheats that take the fun out of games, although they do tempt me. And then when the fun has been taken out through cheats, whats the point? Nice post none the less, I'll use it when I'm ready to cheat.
