So one of the great things about Gamefly is the ability to play technically broken games without actively paying for them – because I don’t want to spend actual cash on a broken game. That’s why I’d like to get State of Decay from them. It has a great core idea – zombie apocalypses are no fun at all. What I mean is the survival aspect is a major player here: resources do not respawn, vehicles break down, characters who die stay dead, morale is constantly falling, and you never really get a break. That sounds awesome (so long as it occurs in a virtual environment).
The problem is that this game apparently fails at things like collision, pop-in, and sound work. I don’t want to deal with that – but I do want to experience the other stuff… So this seems like a Gamefly purchase – but it appears to be an XBLA title so I don’t know if that’s going to happen. Oh, well! Maybe I can convince one of my buddies to spot me? We’ll see.
