Ubisoft has released a 7 minute long Splinter Cell: Conviction video explaining all the combat mechanics. They clearly emphasized that we will can play the whole game however we want. Are you excited for this game?

I am kinda excited. It looks really fun. I wonder though, have they announced yet if there's a co-op mode like the one in the previous Splinter Cell? That thing was amazingly fun to play with my cousin.

Well, just like the previous one, going to pass it. If i wanted a third person cover shooter game, i would go with Binary Domain or Specs Op, i don't need one of my favorite classic stealth series to become this. Which reminds me, Thief also got ruined too. What a bad time to like games...

Yeah, it's pretty medicore to say the least. I fail to understand why they haven't showed us more of the game yet. I mean, whenever a gameplay footage is released, it's staged most of the time. Too many cutscenes, quick-kill, and overwhelming amount of gadgets. I am not sure if this game would be any different from Splinter Cell: Conviction which was more of a third person shooter than a stealth game. Ubisoft seems to have lost it with this series.

If they improve the game play from conviction I am all in for this game.
I hope they also open up the world a little bit I don't like point a to b style very much and goofy barriers.

Sorry mate, but from what I have seen up until now, I don't think that you are going to get what you are looking for here. The gameplay footage that was revealed recently played more or less like Splinter Cell: Conviction which is pretty disappointing to say the least. I wouldn't hold my breath for a good classic Splinter Cell experience.

The Splinter cell camps seem pretty divided over the new vs old approaches to the game. As evidence, the two best selling games in the franchise are the original Splinter Cell and Splinter Cell: Conviction. Like it or not, Conviction breathed new life into the series and as such they are continuing in that vein. I took a chance with Conviction and was pleasantly surprised, even with the multiplayer. As such, I think the new one will be fun too, and I intend to pick it up.

Conviction was an incredible game that I played several times over. I can't wait to check out Blacklist. I pre-ordered it as soon as it was announced, and I'm very ready to play it. I really loved the local co-op multiplayer option as well. I don't like that games seem to have neglected that. It's like nobody hangs out anymore, they just go online anonymously with complete strangers. That's pretty boring IMHO. Give me local co-op over online any day of the week.

Although I didn't like Splinter: Cell Conviction all that much, I have to say that Blacklist looks amazing. I love the fact that there is something for every kind of player here. You can go all guns blazing if you want to, but if you are a traditional stereotypical stealth player, you can complete the whole game stealthy too. It was not possible to do in conviction where the had you in run and gun sequences quite often.
