Xbox One Steering Wheel wont Connect to Xbox One S

Dear all, I recently bought a Gameware gaming steering wheel and pedals for my son to use on his xbox one S. Unfortunately when following instructions it does not link to xbox. I took it back to Game and they said it was compatible and replaced the wheel with a new one. However, still doesn't work. Has anyone had a similar experience? Am i doing something stupid? Any help appreciated. Thanks Andy.
