Xbox 360 Strategies for Improving

What are some strategies for improving my online play in Halo 4? I've been playing Black Ops II online ever since it came out, but all the issues they're having are starting to get on my nerves, so it's time to put that game up for a while and play something else. Only problem is, I'm so used to playing Call of Duty games that I pretty much suck at Halo's multiplayer. Any tips/suggestions?

Have you played through the campaign yet? If not, that would probably be the best way to get used to a different game before you dive into the online multiplayer. Other than that, practice is really the only thing that's going to improve your game play.
