Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is another racing game that you should enjoy. Test Drive franchise has always been known for making decent games and this one is not an exception. If you recall, back in the days people standing behind Need for Speed games released one dedicated to Porsche cars. Well, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends offers something alike but this time you will be driving Ferrari cars and considering the time frame – with a lot better graphics. Unlike the Test Drive Unlimited series, this one does not offer open world exploration. But, it offers a lot closer acquaintance with the line of the fastest red cars in the world. It is really hard to complete the game and its achievements because handling Ferrari cars have never been easy. However, if you enjoy tough racing game – Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is exactly what you need.
Considering that the game is not easy to play, I would like to share a couple of general tips. Some of them are pretty obvious but can be applied in almost every race which makes them unique and at the same time will give you the opportunity to unlock the achievements faster.
Tips:
- It might be a good idea to keep the racing line “On”. This will help you a lot and will actually tell you where you need to start breaking. If you are still only trying to make things work out, you should definitely use this one. This game is actually a tough challenge and it won’t forgive you any possible mistakes, not to mention inappropriate too sudden or too late breaking. But still – do not forget about your intuition and build your driving skills on practice and not on theory only. For example, while with the road cars this seems to work well, race cars act a bit different and you can actually allow yourself to break just a little bit later. Sometimes this gives an amazing bonus in the best currency ever – the TIME.
- Time trials are probably the most hated things in this game. I, personally, have to admit that any time trial in any game makes me feel uncomfortable. I hate being set in some kind of boundaries. As for the Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends, if you want to steal a couple of seconds, you might wanna cut the corners. This is especially useful on tracks like Enna Pergusa and Imola 1981. But, all 4 wheels have to be on the track, if you overdo your cutting, your lap might not be counted.
- Do whatever it takes but ride kerbs only on the road cars. For some reason the race cars seem to spin out easily. I am not sure why but if you stick to the plan – everything should be fine.
- Well – this is an important one and you should be very attentive. Otherwise, you can simply miss the achievement. In the 250 GTO Challenge, there is an event at Misty Loch that is an endurance race. There is a secondary objective saying that you are supposed to finish the race being 3rd. Luckily, that is not true and you are obliged to cross the line first.
Playthrough 1: Campaign mode
As far as all achievements can be obtained offline, you will get all 1000G points in the Campaign mode. The Campaign itself is divided into three categories:
Golden Era (10 missions)
Silver Era (10 missions)
Modern Era (15 missions)
Also, every mission itself contains a certain number of events that also have to be completed.
You can choose any era from the very beginning of the game, however only 1 mission will be at your disposal but only until you bear all the events in that mission. After that you can proceed to the next one. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to skip around to different events and you will be obliged to complete on after the other – that’s the rule. Missions have to be complete from the top to the bottom.
Depending on the difficulty you choose, each event will treat you with the main and secondary objectives. Also, the harder the difficulty, the more points you are going to get. Easy will give you 1, Normal – 2 and Hard – 3 points. Regardless of difficulty, the secondary objective will give you 1 point which means that you will be able to get 4 points maximum in every race (3 points for completing the main objective on the Hard difficulty and 1 point for completing the bonus one).
If you plan to reach the Legend Rank, you will have to complete every event on the Hard difficulty because only this can bring you 864 points and open that most prestigious rank. Though, you won’t have to complete the secondary objective which kind of makes things easier. Well, technically you can play on Normal and earn 2 points per event and another one for completing the secondary objective but in this case you will have to be first in every race. I personally played through the entire game on hard, when I was finished, I had 22 secondary objectives left to complete. I went back and beat the remaining ones on easy.
Once you beat all the events in a mission – you will unlock a particular achievement for that mission. Once you beat all missions – you will unlock a particular achievement for a certain era.
Here’s a number of points you need to obtain in order to unlock each rank:
Ranked Amateur: 100 points
Ranked Semi-Pro: 250 points
Ranked Pro: 400 points
Ranked Champ: 550 points
Ranked Ace: 700 points
Ranked Legend: 864 points
Playthrough 2: Cleanup
Now, if you did well in the Campaign and finished everything on the Hard difficulty, you are supposed to be Legendary. If not – it means that you either played the campaign on easy or skipped the secondary objective. The good news is that you can easily improve the situation by playing the missions again. Make sure that you start the event on the Easy difficulty and simply go for the secondary achievement. You can also get an extra point for crossing the finish line first considering the difficulty set on Easy. Keep completing secondary objectives until you rank to Legend.
All in all there are 45 achievements and all of them can and should be unlocked offline. Approximately, it will take you about 25 hours to get things done but I have to warn you – this won’t be easy. A greater part of those achievements is pretty hard and I would even give them 8 out of 10 on the complexity scale. You also need to keep in mind that choosing difficulty will affect some of the achievements but we will come to this in the further description.

There are 45 achievements with a total of 1000 points.
Ranked Legend (100)
Reach the rank of Legend.
It is nice to see when you are paid for something with the expected gratitude. For unlocking this achievement you will be given 100G points. You are supposed to get this while you progress through the game. Just keep racing and do this with style earning as much points as possible. To get the “Legend” level you need 864 points in total. Play the Campaign mode to get to the point.
Ranked Ace (80)
Reach the rank of Ace.
You are supposed to get this while you progress through the game. Just keep racing and do this with style earning as much points as possible. To get the “Ace” level you need 700 points in total. Play the Campaign mode to get to the point.
Ranked Champ (70)
Reach the rank of Champ.
You are supposed to get this while you progress through the game. Just keep racing and do this with style earning as much points as possible. To get the “Champ” level you need 550 points in total. Play the Campaign mode to get to the point.
