So I just got done getting gold on all the DLC VR Missions and I gotta say they were pretty good. I recommend them to anyone that likes the game and the original VR Missions. They are challenging, more so than most of the base game's VR missions, but nothing as bad as VR 18. The only frustrating ones in the DLC are 27 and 28. DL-VR 28 is frustrating because you have to fight a lot of UGs and cyborgs without using your sword at all (you CAN'T EVEN PARRY) and have to kill them with Homing Missiles. Which is cool, until the last wave shoves 2 GRADs down your throat! And 27 is frustrating because you have to fight 3 mastiffs and a gekko, and you have to kill them via Zandatsu. The camera likes to screw up a lot during this part.

Other than that, though, there are lot of very fun VR Missions and you're getting 30 missions, so that's a lot (the base game only has 20 missions!). One of the new things that are included are instakill mines, which kill you instantly if you touch them (redundacy, hooooooo!). They are cleverly used in one mission in which you must kill enemies by making them run up to them and they add an extra challenge to most of the missions.

Some of the missions are very unique, compared to the ones found in the base game. For example, there are a lot of missions in which it's really dark and there are a lot of missions in which you control a Dwarf Gekko (if you hated that part of the game then you will probably hate these VR missions, but they are like... 8 out of 30 missions?). Some new types of missions include the ones I mentioned in which you control the Dwarf Gekko, of which there are two types: go to the destination and incapacitate cyborgs (stealth). There are 2 Dwarf Gekko missions which are all about platforming, which is a very welcome change of pace and another one is basically Frogger. The ones in which you have to incapacitate cyborgs basically work like Ninja Kill missions.

I found quite a lot of fun missions in the package and it's very cheap. The only issue is that you can not get these missions with a North American account, but you could create an European account and buy an European MSP card to buy them that way which I recommend if you enjoyed the game and the VR missions. I suggest you stay away if you didn't like the VR missions in the main game, even though these DLC missions are much better than the main game's. If you liked the main game's VR missions, though, you will love this. And don't worry, nothing in here will be as hard as VR18 is for most people :P

As for the price and play time, this costs 240 MSP and will get you around maybe 5 hours of playtime. It depends on how good you are. You get more out of this package if you try to go for the 1st place scores, as they may take time to perfect your stategy and such. You also get 2 achievements. One for completing all the missions and another for getting 1st place in all the missions (110 GS, 20 for completion and 90 for 1st place).

So yeah, really happy with this. Now I look forward to the Sam and Blade Wolf story DLCs!

Hey Claptrap - thanks for this post. I've been wondering for a while about getting the DLC VR as I wasn't sure whether the play time would match up to the cost but five hours sounds pretty good. I'm not the best MG player in the world so it will probably take me longer...but I really want those achievements! ;)

Yeah, depending on how good you are it might take longer or maybe it might take less to get 100% on the VR missions. They're very cheap, though, considering how much playtime you can get out of them. I consider myself decent enough at the game (I did get all the achievements, and beat all the bosses without taking damage on Revengeance difficulty which was extremely fun to do) and it did take me a while to get 1st place on them all. Excellent content and game time for the price.
