So, at the Microsoft's E3 2013 conference, they have announced the Xbox One's price to start at $499. Wow. I really thought it would be at least a hundred cheaper. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Does this hefty price impact your previous decision to dive in and buy the new console on day one? Or will you hold off for a price cut/cheaper bundle/less interesting version? I know for me personally I will be waiting a while after launch, but hopefully one of my buddies will grab the Xbox One so I can at least try it out and get it out of my system. ;]

They won't cut the price until at least a year down the road. They are probably going the same route they did with the 360 where after so many months they cut the price and got some news in the press about it. There way of getting more sales over the years. I'll pay $500 for it.

Don't know if it's worth it in my opinion, but I heard that the Kinect is included as well (rumors, maybe). The press conference for E3 was extremely disorganized especially the BF4 release. I heard rumors that it was being shown on a computer instead of the Xbox One, and how the gameplay footage wasn't actually being shown. I like how they partnered with twitch, and the option to stream anywhere, and anytime.

People say just about anything to make you believe it. The BF4 event just had a few seconds without sound before restarting and the crowd going crazy. By far better than Sony's game lag and skipping for like 5 minutes. And that wasn't the stream because the camera pulled out and veryone was moving normal, the demo guy was wondering if it was going to be fixed... so there were a few issues with both. Nothings perfect though, every year there's something.

Hey, at least it isn't 599$. Still, when the PS3 launched with such an high price, people still bought it, so Microsoft will be alright even if the competition has a lower price for their hardware.

If you have a problem with the price, why don't you guys reach out to friends in the shady part of town to get you a hot one? I am not making judgments about any of you fine people, but come on you guys have to "know a guy" who can get you "stuff", or "know a guy" who "knows a guy" who can. Whether it be discounted ball game tickets, flat screen t.v.s for half price, dvd players, etc. New York is crawling with "those guys". Just reach out to that guy whether he's related to you or not, and ask him to look out for an XBOX one for half of its retail.

Yeah, uh, I don't "know a guy" with those abilities. I don't think most of us do. I just stated the price is high and I'll personally be waiting. Not bashing Microsoft necessarily--it's a fact all new technology is astoundingly high in price, so they're not doing anything out of the ordinary. Google Glass is slated to be $1500 at its release, but I'm sure some years after that everyone will have access to a pretty similar $300 version or whatever. It's not a big deal. Just conversation.
