Xbox One The xbox 720 controller

Microsoft has not yet in my knowledge portrayed the xbox 720 controller, but sources say that the new controller would be better designed with a much better D-pad and that the new wireless technology will result in an improvement of battery life.
What do you guys think about Microsoft updating the controller, do you think it needs to be changed and if it does what needs to be improved??

I've heard that it's supossedly smaller. I hope not. The 360's controller is ALMOST perfect, it just needs a better dpad.

Longer Battery Life, re-chargeable with a usb or some other power cable,better D-PAD, less sticky analog sticks and I will be happy with it.

Judging from the previous thread, they said they might use smartphones and tablets as controllers which seems absurd to me.

I actually hope the controller is smaller than that of the 360. I think the 360's controller is just too chunky, and the D-pad needs improving too. I just hope they make the right improvements with the 720 controller, because they could certainly make it worse too.

What if... Microsoft done the console, but not the controller, and Sony didn't do the console, but did the controller. Does it mean that we are being all tricked and we are getting a PS720?

No, seriously, just keep the same design and change the dpad. There, perfect controller!

Haha, that would be interesting if they teamed up together. I try to imagine what the console would be like if they did - it would be amazing wouldn't it? I can't see them teaming up for anything though to be honest. I agree the D-pad is the main thing that needs to be changed on the Xbox controller.

There are dozens of supposed "leaks" all over the internet of what the controller looks like. I'm not the type of person that focuses to much on apperance but rather feel and functionality. Personally I don't care if the controller is "ugly" as long as it feels good in my hands and responds the way it should.

Oh, I actually thought about something I would like to see changed (other than the AWFUL dpad): the sticks deadzones. It seems that they have NO deadzones and sometimes the resting position makes my characters/camera move. Specially awful in some games more than others, though. For example, can't use the left stick in Injustice because my character will crouch when the stick is in its resting position. I wouldn't mind them being customizable!

It looks like some of you will get your wishes. Its been reported the battery life for the 720 controller will be increased around 16% due o better wireless technology or something. The same site said that the directional pad has been improved and that the controller looks roughly the same as the 360 controller. I guess we'll see if this is true or not in the next few months.
