I am so excited to see the game Lollipop Chainsaw, even if the game sounds like a zombie version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I am talking about the original Buffy movie, not the series. What is everyone's thoughts on this upcoming game? Are you tired of zombies, yet? Here is a summary of the game I found on Wikipedia.

"Lollipop Chainsaw focuses on zombie hunter and cheerleader Juliet Starling (voiced by Tara Strong in English and Eri Kitamura/Yōko Hikasa in Japanese) who fights hordes of zombies in San Romero High School, which Starling formerly attended. She carries with her the severed, yet still living, head of her boyfriend Nick (voiced by Michael Rosenbaum in English and Kenichi Suzumura in Japanese), who she decapitated after he suffered a zombie bite. The enemy zombies are led by "a group of zombie rock and roll lords".[4] The zombie outbreak has been caused by Juliet's former classmate, an evil goth sorcerer named Swan (voiced by Sean Gunn)."

I asked for it for Christmas and gave it a shot because of the zombies and it's not... that bad, but it's really repetitive so I kind of lost interest in it quickly. There are some pretty funny parts and some of the scenes/dialogue are pretty brutal. I probably made it about half way through before I moved on to another game, but I might go back to it eventually. Has anyone beat the game?

I had never even heard of it until now. The title alone has me cracking up! This doesn't sound like a good one for me as repetitiveness is a big pet peeve of mine.

My BFF has played it, and she loves it. She has been trying to get me to buy it and play it with her, is it worth the money?

I am definitely unsure how I feel about it so far.

My pros are:
-The music is pretty good, I like the whole classic punk about it.
-I like the sound effects. The crunch of the lollipops, the chainsaw, the kicks and punches
-The variety of zombies. I like how they differ from time to time instead of it being a consistent flow of the same type (like L4D)
-Variety of stages
-Star Power up! It's my favorite part of the whole level. I love getting multiple kills just so I can hear the song.

My cons:
-The acting SUCKS. I mean seriously, there couldn't have been a worse script. It's cheesy and just... repetitive. I wish they'd mixed it up, maybe added some ad-lib?
-Dying. I hate the fact that it's SO easy to die when you're playing mini-games. It screws up the overall grade at the end of the level!
-The "shop". I don't like the pricing of some of the stuff. I think moves should be learned and discovered, not purchased. Although it is pretty easy to get currency.

What's your opinion?

I love the game. It's very fun, but the items in the shop ARE expensive. If you have the DLC costume stuff, then man... you need to buy those too and they're very expensive. Good thing it's not REAL money, though, just gotta keep playing the game. Another thing is that it's too short, but it sure as hell is very fun while it lasts. I liked the ridiculous script and the gameplay enough to replay some levels. Another issue is that Juliet's dad is too awesome and deserves his own game for being so awesome. Seriously, guy's badass.

So yeah, really like the game overall. I love Grasshopper Manufacture's games and this one was fairly similar to No More Heroes (when it comes to gameplay). I think Shadows of the Damned was funnier and had a better overall story, though. And it's no piece of art like Killer7, so I wouldn't say it's one of their best games but it's very good.

I was excited for the game, honestly. I think I preordered it as soon as I heard about it, and I picked it up on day one. Really now - zombies, cutesy stuff, and lots of color. That's game for me in a hilarious sort of way.

However, from the fact I have barely played it recently tells me I gave up on it. I played it for about 2 days straight with any free time I had. I got through a few levels, but there was this one part I kept dying on. Repeatedly. It got frustrating, because it seems like it should've been easier to get past. I could have actually completed the mission if I didn't have to go through every damn scene again from the beginning. Really, who wants to repeat the same battles which might last 1/2 an hour just to get to the finale in which you die again? I would have rathered started from the beginning of the final battle than go through it all again.

The acting was pretty bad as well, but I figured for the kind of game it was that I wouldn't be getting top-notch quality with that part of it.

I don't know, maybe I should go back and pick it up. Maybe try a bit harder on finishing that one level. I just wish it had better save states to start at again.

Yeah! I agree. One big part that really tripped me up was the baseball part. I pretty much got so fed up with it that I turned my xbox off, only to fail at it many more times when I resumed playing. I'm still suck on this one level, where you have to go up with building on the little elevator shaft. I'll give it a try every once and a while, but it's definitely not worth it to keep trying over and over and over again.
