This may not be the biggest news maker coming out of CES this year, but it sure as heck fits into the news we care about as passionate Xbox gamers. The controller looks taped up and battered as though it has been through many adventures with Laura over the years.
According to Larry Hryb's blog (Major Nelson)
Developed in collaboration with artists at Crystal Dynamics, the design of the controller features a two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara’s iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story, as told in this latest title. The controller also features a customizable D-pad that switches from a “plus” design to a “disc” pattern for better control, and a wireless range of up to 30-feet that allows for more freedom in your home environment as you explore and play the game.
Also Major Nelson posted a unboxing video which you can watch below. Although, there is no official release date for the controller, it most certainly will be released around the launch of the new Tomb Raider game in early March 2013. It should also be noted that the controller will come with a downloadable playable character for the game. At the time of this posting the controller can be pre-ordered at your local Gamestop, and will retail for $59.99.
