Ubisoft has announced a new partnership with The Tetris Company that will see it bring the classic game to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot, shared his enthusiasm: “We’re very excited to start working with this world-renowned brand, and can’t wait to combine Ubisoft’s expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans."

Well definitely not a game I was anticipating, but who doesn't love Tetris? Nice to see some of these smaller titles since one of the greatest things about the 360 was its large collection of Arcade games. Hopefully this trend holds up! How do you guys feel about the news?

I'm horrible at tetris but I'm actually pretty excited for it. My girlfriend and I play it on the computer and on our apple devices but whenever she comes over we can play together on the Xbox One now. Hopefully ,since it's a next gen console, it will have a lot of exciting and interactive features for their players to enjoy.

Well I guess this is pretty neat, can not really say much about it because I do not play Tetris anymore but hey at least there will be some more games to play on the One.
You guys ever notice how Tetris is one of the games that is pratically on every device imaginable at some point?

Hey, adds more games to our library.

Tetris sounds like a game much better suited for handhelds, that's why it was a success on the Gameboy. Who seriously wants to sit down in front of their TV playing friggin' Tetris?

well if past stats are a thing, then millions of people....

Anyway I don't see a problem with it. Puzzle games are always welcome, plus hexic did pretty good for the 360 so as long as they don't price it stupid then I'll do well.

I love Tetris, it was the very first game I ever played on my sister's Tetris handheld. But as much as I love it, I'm not going to get unless it's free for Gold or something because it seriously is a very old game. It doesn't feel right if they are charging full price for a Tetris game unless they have something up their sleeves to make the game worth the price.

Tetris has been one of my favorites games when I was a kid. I even play it on facebook. But the thing is, as much as I like the game, I don't want it to be on Xbox One. Why? Thing is, in my opinion. Xbox One is a next gen console. So the games that should be developed for it has to be extremely nice (graphics, gameplay and all)

Great. I love Tetris. It's been a while since I played it. I hope they can get something really interesting for it to be more engaging than the previous games they had for the game. This will be a good game to ease the boredom level whenever I get issues on BF4.

I do. Well just to kill the time. But yeah, I love tetris. It was my first ever game when I was little.

If they're bringing back tetris then they have to bring back other classics right? Like Rtype and some old games like Bwings. Haha. I want to see a lot of the classic games coming back on this new console but with a next gen change.

Wow, a Tetris for the X1? Nice. Let's see what kind of awesomness they'll bring to the table. Will they make it so visually-stunning? Fast-paced? X1 Tetris might be awesome!

I have to agree, Tetris is more of a handheld game than a console title. I love Tetris, but playing it on console? Then again, people enjoy Angry Birds, color matching games, and pinball on consoles.

It's the market attitude. The latter who do love playing the console versions of those games are those who probably don't have the iOS and Android devices, so they like the fact they have the option to play them. Maybe they can make this Tetris worth playing on the console by putting something that can really take advantage of the X1's abilities.

Yeah, they might have something up their sleeve for this. They can't just go and charge us full price for this. They may also have, like what thedoodseven, a plan to make it use the X1's specs so as to make it an X1 Tetris that's different from all other Tetris games. We'll have to wait and see.

They might even have Smartglass features, a Kinect feature... X1's got potential to make this game that seems more suited on handhelds but something only it can make exclusive. We'll definitely wait and see this happen. If not, then I'll be disappointed.

I'm not sure Ubisoft is going to great lengths to make a Tetris game that special. It's not going to be old school Tetris, but it's not going to be some ultra redesigned Tetris that makes you never look at Tetris in the same way again.

But who knows? We'll just wait and see what Ubisoft will do. But yeah, I think I'll keep myself not-so-hyped for this. You may be right as well.
