We just got the LEGO: Lord of the Rings video game and it's so awesome that it makes me want all the other LEGO games now. Someone told me that the LEGO: Lord of the Rings video game is the only one that uses voice overs, though. Is this true?
I think the LEGO: Batman game had voice overs from one of the Batman movies, but I'm not 100% sure about that. The LEGO games that don't have voice overs are still fun to play, though.
I don't think LEGO: Lord of the Rings is the only LEGO game that uses voice overs, but I think it IS the only game to use voice overs pulled straight from the original movie.
I've never played any of the other LEGO games, so I don't know which ones have voice overs and which ones don't, but I know I love how the Lord of the Rings LEGO game pulled the voice overs straight from the movie and incorporated them into slightly different scenes in the game. Some of them have been absolutely hilarious!
Back in the early days when Lego games were made by Mindscape and not Travellers Tales they actually had voice overs. It's only
when Travellers Tales took over making them they didn't have voices. If you look up the older games such as Lego Island they had
voices. Of course then TT took over they did Lego games which were licensed with movies so getting voice overs was a bit tricky.
With the Lord of the Rings game they used audio from the movie, the latest Batman game they had actors doing voice overs. I think
they used the same actors for Batman and Harley from the Arkham games but I'm not 100% sure.
