My One ignores me! I jest, but seriously, what can I do to improve the voice recognition? Sometimes I'll have to say something five or six times before my One "hears" me and does whatever it is I'm trying to tell it to do. Sometimes I just get aggravated and do it with the controller instead.

Tips?

Go into the settings then under kinect there is a way to adjust it.

I just checked online and it says that there's a sensitivity setting under the kinect settings.

It took a few adjustments for me too. I placed the kinect at the very edge of my tv table so it could see and hear me better and i ran he diagnostics program a few times and cranked up my speakers really loud when it told me to and now its about perfect. Ive also noticed if was eating/ drinking or even yawning it would sometimes take a second try with the voice controls

Make sure you don't have any other sound in the room. I got music playing and just had it ignore me as well, but apart from that I haven't had any issues with it. Just figuring out the commands and still trying to figure out how to get it to turn off my TV when I say Xbox Turn Off.

Run the set up till you get it right. It took me about 4 times. Today i figured out how to get ny xbox one to control my soundbar and it works great

Try using the calibration feature.

I'll have to try this myself since it only hears me after saying Xbox "On" a hundred times. Also having problems with my Xbox turning on my cable box and tv.

I actually think Kinect has gotten a little worse after the last update.

I am one of the biggest fans of the Kinect and now its very flaky. Things I had no problems doing before, even in total silence, it will ignore me now.

I said I would not before, but yesterday I mounted the Kinect on top of my TV and hope
that helps.

It's very strange, but the Kinect hears me better when I am down the hall than sitting in front of it.

Check your settings and change them. Then reboot your system. Sometimes my system settings don't go into effect unless I reboot right after changing them.

I didn't try this yet, but I found it online as a tip. Says to make sure to look at the kinect when speaking.

Kinect's camera isn't just there to faithfully transform your inept spasms into silky smooth Kinect Sports Rivals gestures. It's also there to trade notes with the microphone, so that the console can work out who's speaking. When you speak, the console will recognise that your mouth is open and "zoom" the mic, blotting out surrounding noise.

We suspect it'll also tend to assume that you're not actually talking to it when you're looking elsewhere. So if you're having difficulty using voice controls while moving around, try turning to face the screen. This also comes in useful when attempting to play games, we've found.

I'm not at home to look, but are you saying there's a kinect sensitivity setting you can tweak? I had no idea!

I also find that if I'm sitting against the couch my Kinect doesn't listen very well, but if I lean forward then it does. I think it loses me when I lean back (kind of blending into the couch).

For me it's about 85% accuracy/listening. Better than the 1st Kinect, but far lower than what others are experiencing...so something isn't right with my setup.
