Anyone heard any updates on if there is a virtual reality aspect headed for XBOX anytime soon? Sony keeps on getting ahead of the game. We need to add this, I can't even begin to tell you what the market for something like this and if you do it right, it could be an absolute game changer. Imagine running around in Halo's environment with lasers and bullets flying right past your head in first person immersive 3D.

In all honesty, I do think that VR is going to be a game changer like you say, I don't mind waiting for the Xbox VR experience as I think when it does come out for the Playstation then it will be a disappointment. While the VR technology as been around a fe years now, it's never made it onto a home console and from the look of some of the screenshots that have become available I'm not sure it looks all that impressive, and certainly needs a lot of work.

Let Sony make all the mistakes, then Microsoft can learn from them for once instead of it being the other way round like it usually is.

Sony does appear to always have the edge in hardware but waiting won't fix that. They need to be the one on the frontline for a change and not waiting to see what Sony does and then trying to make it better, because by the time that happens, Sony will always have something bigger and better.

But that is what Sony have been doing for a number of years now and it seems to be working for them. I'm not saying that Microsoft should wait to see what Sony do and then blatantly copy it, but what they can do is wait and see what the weaknesses are of the Sony VR system and then develop and work on those so when Microsoft do release their version it ill be better.

Both Sony and Microsoft are constantly developing their consoles and their technology but that's a good thing because the gaming market needs both companies competing against each other in this way.

Well I cannot say that I have heard anything specifically towards the XBox, but there are some rumblings out there concerning virtual reality as a whole. That said, though, we have been hearing this for some time so until it is available for purchase and in my hands I will continue to have my doubts. I am still excited though, and I cannot help but think that we are on the verge of something big. I guess we will have to wait and see. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely a game changer, I was against it for some time before I watched some footage of VR being used for several games like scary, boxing, racing, and many more. There are some games I wouldn't want to see it with, but if the companies out there get the right setup, there is huge potential.

I remember when I didn't want to see the PS Vita come out because I just wanted another PSP model but better, then I got one and I love it. There will be many people against it, but that's people in general, they will judge something until they get their hands on it.

Technology moves at a rapid pace now and I think we've all been guilty in the past maybe of not wanting a device to progress because we like it just the way it is. Most of the time though I think when something does get updated we are actually pleasantly surprised just like you said you was when you actually saw VR in action for the first time.

VR is going to be the next big thing. I don't know how far ahead Microsoft with it but we are really looking at the future unfold in front of our eyes. Who ever is able to put it onto their console working without any kinks, will dominate the console battle for some time to come.

I personally think that the addition of the VR system to the Xbox will somehow help Microsoft to raise their sales worldwide, a lot of people are really looking forward to this new system, even when Sony already took a step forward, Xbox could have the chance of enhancing it by just adapting it to their consoles, that would be a good thing for them, that's my opinion though.

Both Sony and Microsoft will be investing heavily in VR, as like you say, VR is going to make a significant impact on the console market. Both companies will no doubt be relying o their VR technology to try and get the upper hand on each other and as of yet, while I think that Sony might have the edge at the moment, don't expect Microsoft to lie down and let Sony walk away with all the sales.

Even though VR is the next step it won't get very far if there aren't any games for it, we just have to look at what happened to the Nintendo Virtual boy. Granted that it was a long time ago and the market has changed but what ended being it's biggest down fall was the lack of games.
