The game's servers are shut down. That means that essentially you can play this single player but you can not access any multiplayer or co-op functions. This game is inferior in its single player and the fun of the game comes from some co-op action with your buddies. This was kind of an interesting progression of co-op when it first started and there's some historical significance wtihin the walls of the game when it comes to co-op structures, but its lost now. Sad day.

This is why I love community servers on PC.

Still playing 1.6 after 10 years of release.

You know I think I have NFL 10 somewhere in this house. I don't think I ever played it online or anything, but reading that list of stuff kind of made me laugh about that. I wonder what will happen in the future when the Xbox One comes out and resources are needed else where. Army of 2's sequals are probably on the short list of stuff that will be tossed out.

Sucks when that happens though, I should just be able to jump on X-live and pick up a party and play anything I wanted to.

Pretty much this. Every time i hear about a game's servers closing down, i get a bit sad, even if i never played the game. An example was White Knight Chronicles servers on the PS3. Wanted to play, but now can't.

The PC version has community servers and plus - you can host your own one. But only with a cracked version, sadly. And you're right - the co-op element is what makes this game what it actually is. It's really sad to see the servers get shut down, although I don't really play this game that often, but it is still a great game regardless :(

I never had the chance to play this game, be it a single player or multiplayer portion. So, I ma not too bothered with it.

I played through about half the game before the servers were shut down. I did so with one of my buddies and when you're playing multiplayer its really fun. Its an older game and it suffers a bit of weird issues mechanically speaking, but its a fun dumb bro game. It also has a mechanic called "Aggro" which means one player draws fire while the other can do things without the AI reacting as much. It was fun, simple and when you made it through various challenges that was fun. Its lost now outside of the PC area, but it was a good time and co-op historical choice.

Sidd230 is so right that PC servers for online gaming are pretty reliable compared to xbox live. I just never have been kicked off as much as I have on Xbox Live. Sometimes I get so frustrated I wonder if I should just buy a PS3. =P jk

Still has local co-op which is all I care about. Still one of my favorite shooter franchises because of how ridiculous and fun it is.
