Xbox 360 Weak story?

Through this game, I found it really hard to connect with the story and find interest in it. Through every story, they put pitiful background to each character only to show what they've done wrong, and failing to point out any real traits to enjoy in them. I'm not sure if this was intentional, an oversight by the developers, or an incredibly skewed view by yours truly... but guys, this game left me a little bored aside from the... interesting gameplay.

I don't think you have a skewed view of this game at all. For someone looking for a shooter game, this is a good one, but it seriously lacks when it comes to the storyline.

I haven't played it yet and probably won't after reading this. I do like shooter games but I also like to know and follow the storyline in each game. I would get bored too easily.

I don't know if you played the previous games, but this game has a quite good storyline if you know what went on in the previous games. I don't want to spoil it just in case you haven't finished the game yet, but the storyline is great, and the ending of the game leaves the story open ended which is also amazing. I don't know if they're going to make another sequel, but either way, the ending makes a lot of sense when you think about it. It would be wrong to compare a shooter's storyline to RPG games such as Mass Effect or Dragon Age if those are the games you're using to compare this game's storyline to.
