I used to like to be the nice guy and let my friends borrow my games. However, several games never made their way back to me at all. I still have some cases from games that I lent out (without the cases, of course), which I like to think of as a reminder that some people are flat out irresponsible. So, my lending policy is that only my best friends can borrow anything from me, since I know they'll actually give them back. I make exceptions for people who let me borrow their games, since that just seems like the right thing to do. It's not that I don't trust people, but my experiences tell me to be cautious. What about everyone else?

I mostly just swap games. You're going to take my game? Well you aren't getting yours back. It's really funny when they forget they still have my game and they're trying to get theirs back.

Works really well and is very passive aggressive. :D

I only lend my games to someone if he has something that I want. If he has no games that I want to borrow, then the deal is off. My closest friends are exempted from this policy though. If they borrow games from me, I don't look for something in return because I trust them. Besides, I could always go to their houses and get the games back myself. Lol.

Seeing how i didn't had many friends back in the day, we only traded some games that we liked, but even then we all had extreme care for other's stuff, because if something happened, there was always a fight between us, and neither of us liked it.

I don't lend people games. You can call me a paranoid person for thinking that they will steal my game, and never seen again. I have even decided about not lending money to a certain friend for 2 years. You can either describe me as paranoid, or careful.

I'm on both sides of the fence, I have been the angry 'good guy' friend that has lent out games from the kindness of my heart but I've also borrowed games and not taken great care of them. In fact, I once lent out my friends Mass Effect 2 to the shopkeeper on our street for 2 free cans of Dr. Pepper - We never got it back :(

I felt really guilty about that, especially considering how annoying it is when other people lend your games about. Another time I lent a game out my friend RE-LENT it to another friend, and then that guy went on holiday. Didn't get it back for weeks.

I hate both sides of lending games so I think from now on I'm just going to stay away from it all together.

I don't think a lot of people realize how much I like to keep my games (and everything else, really) clean and in good condition. If you were to go through my entire game collection (with the exception of games that I bought used), every disc would look close to brand new. I've actually gotten worse about this over the years, and now I avoid buying used altogether in most instances. Even when I trust people to give them back and to take good care of them, I worry that they're just not as careful with them as I am. I don't have OCD, but it's about as close to it as a person can get.

When I sell games online that I don't play anymore, the people who buy them are always like, "wow, this game was in way better shape than I was expecting!" Well of course they are; that's why I listed them in that condition to begin with.

I'm still guilty as of lately for lending games that have been kept for months longer than agreed. Colin Mcrae and and Silent Hill I almost forgot about. I think I've learnt my lesson lending out games because I also think that they might forget to take care of it. A Grand Theft Auto for the PS2 came back in half once when I lent that out, I should have learnt my lesson then.

I only trade games, never lend without getting one in return, and only if it's in similar condition. I had a friend back in the PS1 days who left his discs lying around everywhere and the bottoms were absolutely trashed. I always kept mine tidy in the cases after seeing that.

No I don't lend people games, but some people have just loved to take my games without asking and lend it to someone and then I never get it back. That's what happened to my MW3.

I've drastically changed my views on lending out games. I too, used to be very care free and happy to let anyone I knew borrow one of my games. I've literally paid for it, after all these years. I'm missing about a dozen games across four different consoles. It's probably more so my fault for not writing down who I lent what to. I do know one friend had my Sly Cooper series for PS2 for a few years, and just found out a couple weeks ago that actually sold them. Awesome. I'm thinking about buying them back, but also eyeballing a PS3 and one of those snazzy "trilogy" packs they keep putting out, too. ;]

To sum up: I rarely lend anything anymore. And if I do, it's to people I trust and see on a regular basis, and I usually say something like, "Hey, make sure I get that back next week."

Never lend anything. That's my motto! Haha.

Seriously annoys me though, one of my friends is like "lend me your Vita and I'll lend you my PS3". I'm like... "NOPE!". If something happens to my Vita it will be terrible. If something happens to his PS3 it will be terrible. I am a pretty much Bad Luck Brian at times, so yeah... no lending.
