If you could have everything you ever wanted in a video game and nothing you hated... what would said game end up being like? I think my game would require mostly stealth, weapons like guns wouldn't break but jury-rigged things would after a while, and anyone could be infected (like The Thing). I would probably also have injuries affect performance so the worse off you were the slower you moved and the less effective you were with weapons. Another fun thing would be that the longer you remained over 50% injured the more likely you'd cross over into zombieville. However, that wouldn't end the game - you'd just spend the rest of the game trying to kill off any humans. Said game will never exist, but I really wish it would. How about you?

I think I have already played the perfect zombie game. It was in the form of Resident Evil 4. The game had it all - great graphics, great story, frightening moments, and superb gameplay featuring a 3rd person over the shoulder aiming. It was pretty revolutionary for its time. All I wish now is that Capcom make another game like this with improved graphics and a new storyline. It would definitely be a hit.

(P.S. If should fix the things that plagued RE6, that would definitely be awesome)

This is something I could go into great detail with, but I'd say third person, Skyrim open world and size game ideally. Survival and building a team, that's my 2 cent opinion.

Very weird if I describe it. I want it to be very storyline-driven like The Walking Dead by Telltale games, open-world where you can find food, weapons, ammo, gas, etc. Also, no repetitiveness like constant beating down zombies with sticks or guns. I want each zombie to be different, and to actually search them to find out about them like where they lived, passports, if they had any food on them or ammo. I would also like it to be very similar to real life like sleeping, barricading doors, night-watches when people sleep. Probably all that would be my ideal zombie game.

I can honestly say I like RE4, but I would not consider it my perfect game - I hate quick time events with a passion. On top of that when I kill something I'd rather it stay somewhat dead. That said it was a good game, which is probably why Capcom hasn't been able to top it yet.

That said I like open-world, but I don't want it to end up like Skyrim in that after a while everything looks the same. You can only do so much with a space before you're rehashing things rather a lot. Team building could be fun, but how they go about it could very well suck. I don't want idiot AIs to escort.

I don't know if I want a storyline... it depends on the Dev team I think. If you have someone like the Bioshock team then sure, but if you have say Bethsheda it might fall apart at places, and if you get Max Payne or Duke Nukem forever type writers... no. Besides that sort of limits things because of course you need the elements of a story - beginning, rising action, climax, descending action, conclusion. But Zombie style pokemon sounds awesome. Gotta track em all!

A perfect zombie game for me would be something similar to Resident Evil 6. It would have to have dark background's, creepy music, and of course zombies. Like I said, any game similar to Resident Evil 6 or any other Resident Evil, would be perfect for me.

Give me a rougelike zombie game with Ironman mode saving and you would have a great zombie game. Those two elements alone would have me pre-ordering a game, and I rarely ever do pre-orders. A good nonlinear zombie game just doesn't exist, unless you think games like Rouge Survivor or Project Zomboid to be good.

I like the way Left 4 Dead plays, but it's not exactly perfect. I suppose my perfect game would be something along the lines of that with a mix of Mass Effect type of gameplay. Being able to do considerable melee damage is something that a lot of games lack. Usually it's a last-ditch effort when you're being swarmed, but I'd realistically like to approach some zombies and beat them up a bit without getting killed instantly. I like Dead Rising, but it's a bit too hectic for my tastes.

An open-world game with a main questline and a plethora of side quests; RPG elements, but not exactly in the vein of Dead Island (although an improved take on first-person zombie killing Diablo style would be amazing). There would be an emphasis on scrounging, and there would be instances where you'd make moral descisions, such as killing survivors for their stuff, or helping them without an immediately known benefit. Horror would be a theme, and while the game would be open, there would be plenty of nice set pieces nicely spread out. Melee would be important, with jury-rigging aplenty, but there would also be firearms (limited ammo and items must be found to keep guns maintained; damage would not degrade, but guns will jam or even stop working without maintenance). All of these things have been done before, but not exactly in the way I am imagining.

My perfect zombie game would probably be resident evil 2.

Yeah, I know it already exists but, it is the most engrossing zombie game I have ever played.
I'm a big survival horror fan and have been ever since I played RE:2 about 10 years ago.

Since then, I haven't played another zombie game that matched it in terms of depth of story line and depth of game play in terms of puzzles and things to do.

I reckon Capcom got it bang on in that game and for its time was awesome.

If they could make another game with that level of intelligent puzzle design and survival horror grittiness but using a more up to date graphical engine and making things a little less linear like RE:4 and bring the game back to a small town, a bit like Silent hill, the game would blow us all away I reckon.

this could get long... im not a zombia game or what not... soo.

would have to built around frostbite tec(bl4/division style game)

open world with levelution... where housus/building could be rigged with explosives to kill mass amounts of zombies... their iwould need to be a bit of stealth play and snipper style play as well not just run and gun.

with zombies being motion sensative... the ability to cover/hide would be key.. my general game would be based around the character having to survive/live in the woods as the zombies would be in rural areas.. so the general objectives would be to get into the city to loot things you need to build weapons and general structure.the woods would have straglers but no hords of zombies.. with general gaming shown in the division where clearing the zombies and getting the police station back on line and holding it would be key... these would be building under lock/key that are not easily accessed from outside. having access to and moving into them would be the bigger goal... weapon staches, food, place to cook... access to helicopter.. which could be used for food drops and general weapon surplusses+ammo...

i think in a game based around zombies and real world ammo needs to be sensative.. useing it as a necessity but frugle. snipping from buildings to help other players get things and return. fiding parts to fix up a truck or car.... so u can get bigger equipment or more food/rations.

being able to fix a helicopter and fly it to near by stations ot colaberate/multiplayer with others

the game wouldnt need hoards of zombies but would need enough to seem real...

Oh yeah, an open world zombie game would be really cool. I'm thinking something along the lines of the Elder Scrolls games (which already have zombie-like creatures in it), but scaled back a bit. There could be random zombie hoards attacking villages or towns like the dragons do in Skyrim. It would also be cool to incorporate some defensive tools, like setting up archers and whatnot on perimeters (depending on the time period, otherwise it could be snipers or what have you).

Now I'm getting all excited about a game that doesn't even exist...
