I had no problem purchasing the Xbox One at $499, but I didn't feel like that was a fair price. I would have settled for $449 or $349 without the Kinect peripheral. I can see how anything cheaper than those prices would severely hurt Microsoft's bottom line. Did you feel all right plopping down $499.99 or $399.99 for no Kinect? I don't find Kinect necessary, but I'd still rather have it for the voice commands.

What would be your sweet spot for an Xbox One price, whether you own it or not? And let's be realistic here.

I thought that 500 dollars was a little much for the Xbox One, but I bit the bullet anyways because I wanted to try the console out. After playing with it for a while I think the Xbox One should cost somewhere in the 400 dollar range, even with the kinect. I think the price of the Xbox One is definitely hurting Microsoft, sooner or later they are going to have to lower there prices.

$299 would make it way more affordable for the masses. I paid $500, but debated that for a while before buying.

If it was $299 I would not even hesitated.

I think the perfect price point would be $0. Noone would dislike it then!

I don't think $299.99 would work as a price point for the Xbox One, or even the PS4. Sony's choice for a $399.99 PS4 seems to be the very bottom of the range for this generation's major consoles, Wii U excluded. Now we'd all love a free console, but that's never going to happen. It doesn't hurt to dream though!

Obviously the lower the better lol, but nothing's perfect so I guess the best for me would be $299 - $349. The initial price point was too steep, I'm glad they decided to ditch the Kinect and lower the price. Anyway, I already bought it so makes no difference to me.

I agree a price drop would be good. I then think about maybe they wouldnt give us what we wanted if it was any cheaper. They are looking to profit so it has t be something for them. I think they are developing new things but there has to be positive point for them also. It didint really affect my opinion on it. I was leaning towards it a bit but the price drop didnt change my thoughts on it.

If they dropped the price to $349.99, then I think most people would jump on that immediately, especially since it's a lower price than the PS4. I think the Kinect is pretty useful for the voice commands, and I use the voice functions more often than not. It just shows you how much smarter Sony was with their console because they haven't had to drop the price yet, though. PS4 consoles are still selling like crazy, and only now is the Xbox One starting to catch up at all.

I've two XB1s.

A Day One edition and one I bought the day the kinect was removed.

I'd say perfect price point for me (and I'd get my 3rd and 4th boxes for my place), would be $299. That's my impulse purchase price. if they did that, I'd get both additional boxes the same day.

I had 4 xbox 360s (and two spares, just in case) previously and only recently went all XB1, selling my last two 360s.

I'm going to say that 249.99 without the connect would be perfect. The package comes with no game and only one controller, so every new xb1 purchase will at least get one game worth 59.99, and MS will get over 300 for each purchase. That's more than enough of our hard earned money. I will admit that I did fork over the 499.99, even though I didn't feel the price was fair. I did wait and contemplate a lot. If the system had a 249.99 price tag, I would have pre purchased one with two games and an additional controller as fast as I could type this.

My perfect price point for the XBox One is the same price as the one the PS4 sells for right now. I think that way most gamers and potential buyers won't feel like they're making a sacrifice by choosing one over the other; a choice will be based on games and personal taste only.
