That ritual is get at least one kill before my very first death online. I couldn't care less how I do it. I'll camp my ass off if needed, as long as I get that very first kill! So far I've managed to do this on MW2, Black ops, MW3, and Black ops 2. Here's to MW4! (or whatever IW decides to call it).

If you guys have any specific rituals you do when a cod game comes out, feel free to share them here! I'm interested in hearing/reading them. Maybe I'll pick up on a couple of them on my own if they seem reasonable enough. :)

Haha, I'm also hell-bent on getting a kill before my first death on Call of Duty games, and I typically do. The only shtick I have that I can think of is that I absolutely have to finish the campaign before I get to the multiplayer, which is strange considering that the campaign is far from being the most important part of the package for me.

Having a ritual sounds like fun, I should try something like this for the next Call of Duty game. But what happens if we die before our first kill? Do we burn the disc? Just kidding. If I had a ritual it for sure would be related with single player rather than multiplayer because I always play single player first, maybe complete the first mission in Veteran difficulty without dieing a single time?

I do this with every Halo and Call of Duty game...I buy two Monsters and put them in the fridge, then wait for the game and go get it at midnight...and then play all night, sleep an hour maybe at about 5 or 6, then play all day the next day. I did this in high school an college no problem, but now with a full time job it might be an issue haha. Good thing I have paid sick/vacation days!

haha i used to do the same thing but monster's get me all pissed off. No idea why just probably the caffiene

I always tend to play the Singleplayer first, rather then jump straight into the multiplayer componet. It gives me a taste of some of the game's mechanics and guns (even if they do end up being different from their multiplayer variants). I actually do this with every new major FPS shooter ha.

I agree with Soku47 100%. The only other thing I do before going multiplayer is try to learn all the maps available. It gives me time to search the maps without people killing me and respawning me to somewhere I hadn't been yet. Get killed again...rinse and repeat! No real ritual just taking in the game slowly, then going all out and just enjoy the fast paced gameplay knowing I have completed Veteran and most of the chivos associated with single player.
Keep Calm and Game on!

My Call of Duty ritual is that I play the campaign before even touching multiplayer. I don't know why, I just do it. I like seeing how the multiplayer maps are incorporated from the campaign levels. I've done this ever since Modern Warfare 2.
