I am not a big poker fan / player but it could be fun. Its a free game non the less and it is roughly 1.10gb so its size does surprise me. Games like Fable 3 are 3.x gigs and iirc magic was 2.x gigs big.

Would be cool if you could rock your gamertag / avatar /live guy. Mine is wearing the Xbox One green shirt. The players look built off that program but don't seem to have the outfits or character customization. I mean come on its poker free game i'm sure it could kill a few hours and probably better off learning this than magic 2013 lol. Yeah I am horrible with magic, but again its free so go download it.

Their was a beta of this not sure how much exposure it got but their was/is an overview of the beta.

I just played it for a while. Was very laggy and servers were disconnecting. Frustrating even though it says "beta".
 
i havn't tried it but if its the beta it says its laggy and such.. also means they are aware of general issues and are still developing.
 
Its just a re-skinned and retooled version of Full House Poker, which was a great arcade title. Played it for months with friends. You actually do use you avatar.
 
That's pretty cool. I hope the lag gets better or it won't be worth it to play. Thanks for sharing. I will have to try it out.
 
i just tried to play it.

its very slow atm... idk if thats typical(beta) or if it has to do with ammount of people online. i got to the point of joining a game. waited 2 minutes to finally let connected and disconnected as soon as i joined. i guess this could be server overload or just poor system at this point. this would be the 2nd wsop games released and one would think the second would be allot more fluid and streamline than it is at this point.. especially with it being published as free via microsoft.

i hope this is not the trend with indie games going forward with xbox one. this is exactly what i dread a gaming system to be or be capable of. this looks horrible on the developer but microsoft putting it on the dashboard as a game they are pushing just makes it that much worse imo. let them get the system up and running and fast than publish it. heck i bet the poker night boarderlands2 game is much better than this.
 
I'll try it. I am not the biggest poker player, but I played years ago and it seems like it would be a decent enough entry back into it.

I noticed the same thing, and it locked up on me a couple of times. Thankfully it saved all the coin I won, otherwise I would have been TICKED.

To be fair it is a beta. So I am expecting it to get better. AND I downloaded the game for my Android phone and it does have all my stats and money saved. So when I want to go back and play on the 360 again whatever I do in the phone app should be there. I like that.

Interestingly enough the phone app is EA.
 
Is there a tutorial mode, like on how to play Poker? That would be a great feature for card noobs like me. Always wanted to learn, never had the time.

i didnt get that far but i dont think so. you could proably wikipedia or youtube poker... its been a few years since i was taught so i cant help you. it was a once and done thing for a wedding figured id learn a little before i was their. best man type of thing.

i am sure once you learn its enjoyable or will give u peice of mind to play cards with friends.
 
I can see my husband actual,y really enjoying this. He plays online with people through an iPhone app.
