Does anyone play the WWE games for the 360? I haven't played a wrestling game in years, probably since around the time of the PS1. I used to play the heck out of WWF Raw on Sega Genesis, but they've obviously come a long way since then. I used to watch wrestling a lot, but I sort of just stopped one day. I find it highly entertaining, mainly for the ridiculousness.

Anyway, has anyone played any of the newer WWE games? I saw that they've been getting decent reviews lately, but I don't know anyone who has actually played them.

I find the WWE games to be really boring. They have amazing customization but the gameplay itself is really lame, IMO. Except for WWE All-Stars, that one plays more like an arcade over-the-top kind of game, really damn fun.

it has been sooooo long since i played a wrestling game...

some of the recent ones have caught my eye to try it out but ive never gotten into them enough to purchase...

i wish one had a demo... thats usually how they get me hook line and sinker... if i start playing the game i want to get better and usually will buy if i play the demo an get past 5 minutes.

I've talked about the WWE games before and the experiences with creating my own stables or tag teams and how fun that is. On that note, the next time I see a cheaper WWE game I'll probably get it if its newer then the one I currently have which I don't even remember what year its from. 2012 I think.

The point is, the WWE games have been fun and kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. When I do get them, I invest quite a bit of time into it and make a lot of my own story lines and the such. I hope that they continue to improve, eventually one day it would be nice to have a comprehensive story mode that you create.

Like I said, I haven't played any since probably the PS1, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. WWE 12 is currently about $15 on Amazon, so I suppose if I did get it I wouldn't be risking a whole lot. I don't really care about the story so much, since I barely pay attention to it in real life (but to be fair, I don't watch all that often). As far as I know, there's no demo for that one, so I guess I'll have to just make a decision one way or the other.

After playing WWF Smackdown for the original Playstation, I have never ever touched another wrestling game. My interest in the genre waned. I think WWE is for the young at heart. I no longer derive satisfaction from watching staged sporting events. The same goes in playing material that is based on such staged sporting events like WWE. I like The Rock though. Lol.

I don't care whether it's staged or not. In a video game, the storyline is the only thing that's staged (except with a few exceptions), so it's really no different. I'm more concerned with whether it's fun to play than anything else.

Even though its staged, there's still an entertainment value that's there. I for one would not climb a 10 foot ladder and jump down onto someone while everyone is chanting about. The craziest part of it is, you go and do it again the next night. I think some of the fun of the game is the actual fighting mechanics. I've played some loose fighting games (lets just ignore street fighter or mortal combat in this conversation) but they work really hard to make it a better game and polish it better the next year. I think it falls into the same trip as the Maddens where you should just pay for a DLC of stories and rosters and stuff.

This is also a genre that's killer for its unlockables... Completionist like myself love it.

I do enjoy a good time-waster. Not every game needs a deep storyline and engaging characters, but I do find WWE entertaining in general. It was never about being real or realistic, though. Maybe my standards for a WWE game are a little lower because I'm not a die-hard fan of the live action WWE. It's just something I've put off for so long that I thought I'd delve back into it for once.
