I was reading that the Xbox One will be able to fully support 3D and have Ultra HD (4k) graphics. It should be a nice day when a developer and TVs can start really utilizing it. You guys think Ultra HDs will even catch on during this upcoming generation? Although i'd be nice to have native 1080p at this point i'm wondering if this is one of the those features we'll actually ever get to see or a just in case measure implemented for this gen.

I think the 3D thing is still just a gimmick, and most people don't seem too concerned with it anyway. They'll likely charge more for 3D games than regular ones, since they probably won't make every game capable of 3D output by default. 3D TVs in general don't seem to be catching on; it just seems like they have a lot more development to get through before it's where it needs to be.

Do they games have to be optimized for 3D or can they just sort of throw the 3D effects onto the game afterwards? As far as this Ultra HD thing, well last generation 1080P HD was all the rage... everything was "woah, 1080p HD!!" so I guess it only makes sense that now they've got a higher definition buzzword. ULTRA HD!

If it can run in constant 60 fps, sure, i say go ahead, but until they can't, i would recommend them to just focus on the performance of the it, rather than bumping the graphics until the console can't take it anymore.

The only content I can see using 4K is pictures and video I wouldn't expect any kind of gaming at all on that resolution.
