The next-gen has no signs of stopping, especially for Amazon.

Gamespot reports that the Xbox One and PS4 have sold almost 1,000 systems per minute.

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were so popular this holiday shopping season on Amazon that at peak, both systems sold at a rate of 1,000 consoles per minute. Amazon revealed the figures as part of an announcement of its best-ever holiday shopping season. On Cyber Monday alone, shoppers ordered more than 36.8 million items worldwide at a pace of 426 items per second.

The Xbox One and PS4 are neck-and-neck for worldwide sales so far, moving over 2 million consoles each. Sony expects to sell a total of 3 million units by December 31-- now just two days away. Amazon also revealed its top-selling video games for the holiday period. They were, in order, Call of Duty: Ghosts (Xbox 360), Just Dance 2014 (Wii), and Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360).

Well, my thoughts? Good for Sony and Microsoft. They got through quite the journey to come where they are now but with their new consoles, they've really defined history in the world of gaming. I hope they can sell more and rock and roll in this world! Also, I'm surprised that people went for the Wii version of Just Dance 2014. Guess it proves Nintendo's Wii still got the kick in it.

The next-gen is really starting a revolution here. I didn't think it would sell that much. 1000 systems per minute? Incredible. And this is just from Amazon. This doesn't cover the other retailers, so it definitely shows. Oh yeah!

That's a lot of consoles selling every minute. This is really history's first defining history of console sales. It proves more and more people really anticipated these consoles' releases. It's like when a new iPhone or iPad comes out.
