Xbox One Xbox One bestselling console in US last month (December)

Microsoft's new Xbox One was the bestselling console in the United States during the month of December, according to NPD Group data, selling more than 908,000 units in its second month on the market.

While Microsoft publicly released NPD sales numbers for the month, Sony Computer Entertainment declined to provide specific data, saying in a statement, "PlayStation 4 remains the cumulative leader for next gen console sales in the U.S. since the launch on November 15. We sold every PS4 available at retail in the U.S. and were out of stock in December due to overwhelming consumer demand."

Well that's some good news, although I'm sure the international sales speak a different tale. Either way it's good to see both consoles selling well since that allows us, the consumers, to benefit. I think the console battle will remain close for the lifetime of both consoles.

PS is still above overall -- which I take to mean that the wars before launch were won by PS. The changes Microsoft made after consumers weren't happy may have hurt them initially, but now it's obviously going to even out a bit more once people buy the console and realize it's not evil, it's not going to watch them in their living room.

sony ps4 was released before xb1... and its already in 8++ territories more..
no real worry its already sold 3.2m in the territories it has launched... its not a flop and people are still buying..

Yeah, give us more games. This is a big success for microsoft knowing that they just sold it over a few countries unlike PS4 who has a lot of territories.

This is very good news for Sony but i am not really worried about sales. The console rocks either way!

PS4 still gets above internationally but hey, like everybody here, no worries man! Both consoles rock and they've been surprising us a lot since their releases last November. Just give us the games that define the consoles and let's rock! I'm liking what they're doing to really define the current-generation.

Guess the Xbox One has gained more of a following in the US while the PS4 has more in international/European markets? Either way I really do think its too early to decide, really have to wait a bit longer and take into account features and exclusives on offer.

True, true. Too early to say. Besides that, that's only the best-seller for a month. But congrats to the X1, it made it well above its predecessor. Rock on X1!
