Xbox One Xbox one controller help

So, recently my Xbox One controller's analog right analog stick got stuck whenever I press on it I stated thinking that it was because of the styrofoam that comes with the Xbox One package. I tried to open the Xbox One controller but I need a security torx screw. Which I do not have, so I was wondering if it was safe to put it in water or to rinse with water to get the styrofoam out of the controller.
