The Xbox One will receive its first major dashboard in March, The Verge reports, addressing numerous issues with the Xbox Live service along with other unspecified system fixes. Citing sources familiar with the matter, The Verge reports that the update will introduce fixes for Party-chat problems as well as improving the usability and visibility of Xbox Live's social features.

The Verge also verified with sources that Microsoft plans to release a white Xbox One this year. The user claims that a 1TB model will launch in November and that the company may release an Xbox One without a Blu-ray drive. The Verge confirmed with sources that Microsoft has been testing Blu-ray drive featureless Xbox Ones.

Well that is a whole lot of surprising news being rumored at once. While I don't particularly care for a white Xbox One, I would be very upset if a 1TB console is released so soon after launch. I would have gladly paid extra for a bigger HDD. While we are likely a long way away from any official announcement, if true it will make for some interesting E3 reveals. What do you guys think of the rumor? Fact or Fiction? Do you think it would be too soon to start introducing bigger storage and alternate colors? Are you at all interested in picking it up this holiday?

I agree, there are way too many rumors floating around right now. What I'm going to do is treat these rumors with a grain of salt until Microsoft themselves come out and verify them. Anyway, we'll know soon enough. I'm sure Microsoft will be releasing official statements on these rumors soon.

idk.. im kinda torn.. the novelty of a "white" xb1 is still one of those novelty's because its a unicorn of sorts. it can be had but at a price.

i agree if they offer a 1tb hd or even a sshd upgrade i will be a bit bummed... but if they offer a trade in to "upgrade" i wont be so upset that a bigger hd is available so close to launch. it would also help get more xb1's in market people who have to get the latest thing will probably upgrade and people who wanted a xb1 and possibly couldn't afford may pick up a used one helping get user numbers up. after reading whole whole article i guess we are possibly getting a 1tb hd... i wont lie i would love one..

i am kinda disappointed about going away from a blue ray player.. i guess they are really trying to push the movie/marketplace on xbox and possibly ppv thru tv tuner??? its one ofthose thing everyone wanted on the 360 and it is a staple in movie watching for hd...

i think they should have offered a "white" and "black" option at launch if that was the case.. but if the white console is a"bundle" it is what it is...

i guess we will see or hear in the next 4 weeks whats comming and possibly get more info on this update.

I guess it can happen. I did saw a white Xbox One on sale on Amazon, I don't know if it is official but it does look legit. I hope they can make one. It's a lot easier to personalize a white Xbox One compared to the black one.

Can't say the rumor is fact or fiction until official news comes out so take this grain of salt. I'll just wait. But it would definitely suck if they did release a 1TB XB1. Well, E3's always there,.

The quite consultant been out since before launch, but were intended only for employees. Obviously many employees decided to sell the console.

I missed the part about the disc-less version. I'm not going to consider a disc-less Xbox One even if I haven't bought it yet. I don't have a super internet that can download big sizes in minimal time and it's missing a disc drive. Although, I don't use it to watch movies but at least I know the feature is there and I can use it when the time comes.

I saw this earlier, it's kind of interesting that they're going with a disc-less version. I'm guessing it's a soft amount to test the waters early on.

I read an update on that particular rumor. They're simply doing some R&D and probability still is that it will never actually release on the market. Even if it did it would obviously not be for a long time.

Idk about a white console, I prefer black consoles myself. Can't wait for the dashboard update, as the current one is exactly like Windows 8, I hate it.

I sort of feel sad for Microsoft because if all this news is true, practically half, if not all of their E3 is spoilt. And if they don't comment on anything then were just waiting for them to announce it and that ruins the surprise.

the white xbone has been known for quite a while and the update was...well..needed...Quite frankly if Microsoft's E3 big hitter was an update and a new color xbone then I'd feel sorry for them for not having anything significant to show off.

I'm really looking forward to the dashboard update. It's been navigable, but an update is definitely welcome.

Ah, bummer. Well, there'll be a dashboard update within a year, hopefully.

i dont know about a dashboard update or what they could expand on at this point... maybe when we start seeing a ton of apps

they will improve small segments with updates/patches but i wouldnt think any overhaul or major update is on a horizon.

I can see there being more apps added for different services.

Wait... a disc-less Xbox One? Uhmmmm/.... not gonna work for me. I still like to have the disc part 'cuz you know, some games might not make it on digital form so... nope, not going for the disc-less version if it ever gets released.
