The Xbox One's DVR will automatically record gameplay as achievements are unlocked, an Xbox official said.

Xbox Australia Product Manager told YouTube user ChampChong that, while Xbox One players have the option to forego recording gameplay, the DVR will automatically capture when achievements are unlocked. The gameplay can then be shared, although it's been announced that sharing on the Xbox One will be limited to Xbox Live at launch, and social sites such as YouTube or Facebook won't be viable sharing outlets from the outset.

Awesome! This is a nice little touch especially since some of my funniest and greatest moments are due to my achievement hunting. I'm sure it will capture plenty of unexpected mayhem and laughs.

This is a great feature. I had a funny moment like this the other day. I was playing NBA 2K14 and I beat my brother, and during the whole game I got an achievement. I could not stop laughing because it was my first time playing the game, and I got a achievement.

Now, this will be amazing as I have come across some achievements by mistake and I can at least see how I did it!

Wow. It is hard to believe that this technology exists. I really like this idea and it is so cool that they are including it with the new console. It will be fun to show your video recorded achievements to friends.

Cool! I think they should put an option to show the achievements or not. I don't have a problem with them it's just that if i'm doing a Live Comm they make a huge sound when they pop up.

That's already an option on the 360. You can turn off notifications from the settings and that includes achievements. That has been an option for years now.

It has a dvr?

Great, now every ten year old will be on YouTube doing commentaries talking about what to use to get a .8 kill death ratio...

There have been one or two instances where this would have been worth it IMO, but overall, it's not a feature that I would use. Do you think that turning this notification on will affect the XB1s performance on any level?

A new report says it will not do this for every achievement, just those which developers turn it on for

I just hope they don't do the random kinect photos thing. So embarrassing.

thats going to be odd no??

im thinking bf4 at the moment(beta)

say im playing a 30 min game or heck an obliteration (last one lasted 47minutes) with al lthe ribbons and scores/unlocks is it going to dvr them? i got 7 ribbons and unlocked something in every class reacon, engineer ect ect.. i also unlocked stuff for the vehicles. it would be like dvring many parts of a game but in random.

its ok for some games where its done in a solo aspect but could get cluttered with games where things can happen on top of each other.

You don't unlock an achievement everything you get a ribbon. The dvr also only works for the achievements the developer wants it to

Depending on the achievement it could be cool. For the most part though, achievements are silly things like "defeat the first boss of the game", or "win a race online". Those ones won't be worth recording at all. I'm more interested in the funky achievements like "kill 6 players at once with a single grenade" and the like. For those, it sounds pretty sweet.

It is great that Xbox One DVR Will Automatically Record Achievement Unlocks. It is a great step from Microsoft and they should as they have to compete with the upcoming Playstation 4.

So from what Knightmare has described all of those tortuous CoD achievements will most likely be the ones that this will be set for not the win your first race. That makes sense and it will also reveal what the developer thought would be the more difficult parts of their game.

They also don't want people recording achievements considered spoilerish

Interesting feature, but not much use really. It makes sense for achievement hunters, but for an average Joe gamer, I doubt this will be much of a functionality that would provide an edge over other consoles such as the PS4. To be honest this functionality actually makes it feel like microsoft is watching and recording your gameplay :/

Well both consoles do that now through statistic thy take with out our knowledge. Many developers say they make sequels or new IPs based on the data they got from how gamers played their past projects. I wouldn't worry much considering you never have to go online if you don't want to (other than for the Day 1 update)

What I think a lot of people are missing is that most of what you enjoy and take for granted now, is something that someone said, "well, only this type of person would like that." Until these things are provided, most people don't know what they'd want or not want in a console or a phone or a tablet.
