Microsoft's February 2014 update for the Xbox One was supposed to be available today, but the company is now aiming to release it later this week, company spokesman Larry Hryb announced today on Twitter.

"The February #XboxOne System Update will ship this week, but not today. The team is working on finalizing [it]," said Hryb.

Well this is both surprising and disappointing. Its odd that it would be delayed, after MSFT themselves pushing the update to the media. While it may not be anything to worry about, it is interesting to note that this would be the first update on a new generation of consoles. Did they say something they didn't like? Anything is possible. What do you guys think of the news?

This isn't surprising to me at all. It sounds like they're doing a bunch of major updates and I'd rather see it done well than done quickly with bugs. We had enough of those with BF4 ;)

A battery gauge on the next update? Sweet. But the best thing is the option to use a USB keyboard on it. I will definitely get this new update. I hope we can get more cool updates in the future that would really make our consoles nicer.

Really looking forward to using the USB keyboard functionality.

Yeah, same here. It's a lot easier to play my games using my keyboard. I can't wait to have the new patch installed.

i just got the update today..i see my battery life but i cannot seem to find where to manage my storage space

Heh, i cant find where the batterly life is, but i can find where to manage storage space.. Well, it tells you how much % you have used of your hdd and tells you how much is left (you can see it on the left when you go into 'my games and apps') . To manage your hdd, i havnt tried it but if you press the 'start' button when your over say, a game, there is a option to 'manage' . Hope that helps.

Where can you find the batterly life ? i assumed it was next to the clock on the dash like it was in a screenshot i saw but it never shows up for me.

just press the xbox light button on your controller and it will show you at the bottom right of the home screen

I've downloaded the update and it works fine on my side, I can see the battery bar. I haven't tried using my keyboard as of yet, well my spare is busted so I have to buy a new one tomorrow. It's a lot easier to use a keyboard but I wish they could also connect a mouse to it.

Yeah so when you go to the main dash, it should be in the lower right next to the clock ? If thats where you mean, i have yet to see any battery level indicator. :\

yea it's right to the left of it. Sometimes it's there, somtimes it's not (super great right?) anyway usually if you home back to game then home out to dash then it'll pop up.

Yeah, it's not there all the time but well I don't really mind. I'm really after the keyboard functions.

i told you guys if you want to see it, press the xbox light button on the controller when your "home" and it will pop up
