Microsoft has revealed a massive Xbox One update is planned to fix features "hidden or harder to use" than they were on Xbox 360. Speaking to Engadget, chief product officer Marc Whitten revealed plans to consolidate features like Friends Lists, Parties, Avatars and Achievements all in one place, as the resounding feedback has been they're too spread out.

Whitten commented on Xbox One's missing Twitch broadcast capabilities that we reported on earlier, intimating that he hoped it'd be available on the console before E3 in June.

I'm glad to see the MSFT is hard at work listening to feedback and making updates available frequently. We all knew we would see changes to the UI since that is a trademark of a MSFT console, but this is certainly happening quicker than I expected. Hopefully we continue to see more great updates from now until E3 so that once again they con focus on nothing more than games during the press conference. I am very optimistic with the direction MSFT will take the console and its OS.

Awesome im glad they're moving quick with these updates because the friends, parties, achievements def needs to be fixed and quicker imo, but this make me happy cant wait for it to come out

They really need to move away from 2 big updates a year and roll these fixes out quicker, so this is good to hear.

It’s that level of open-mindedness to criticisms and critiques of the gregarious aspect of online that has made Marc Whitten respectable. They always say that being passionate in what you do will always show up in your work. Having that type of delegation where individuals like facing those challenges that would be nitpicking to a generalist is what sustains Microsoft’s aim for security.

Compared with the other consoles, I’d say Xbox One owners are in a better position for security despite of the minor hiccups. That’s just the quality that comes with buying a more expensive system because it’s taking into consideration of the company’s strive for security and being able to interact with other gamers easier.

Looking forward into seeing how Twitch will integrate with Xbox One in the future. I know that might help a lot of people who do speed runs in games for a living (i.e. CosmoSpeedruns).

My brother was actually a little (understatement) annoyed by how the social functions weren't all in one place like they should be. This will be good news for him. I've been telling him that Microsoft will fix that, they kind of have to keep that sense of everything being convenient on this one system.

the party stuff is very sktech and unstable. i have been on it the last 4 days. i was really not sure if it was the party feature itself or the fact it was in a snap and trying to pull data from 2 places and over lap them.

basically ive been playing bf4 with a few friends. the game itself obviously can see your not pulling a mic/sound from other players and can see you are in a party. yet it does not put you on the same team. or even in same squad.

than randomly it will turn off party chatt.. but leave the group open. its actually quite hard to bounce between battlfeild4 and snap/party while in game.(minus when your dead) your basically a sitting duck if your trying to fix something in game on party chatt.

their is a few glitches even getting party chatt to work.. i had a hard time getting it to even work. i had to adjust settings..

i would say microsoft has to release monthy updates for the first year. be it stability, network,ui,network, apps i would say at year 2 bi monthly updates.. they dont have to be big or noticeable honestly but as a consumer seeing them steadily work on the system could go a long way. we already need updates on 3rd party hard drive.. and are awaiting headset stuff.

i really hope the head sets dont have similar issues as they id with 360.. a bunch of friends talked about the hz/wifi would interfere and would cause static or some odd istance it would work but would have double voice and eco's..

They could run placebo updates, say it's "stability", and people would be okay. As far as the social features, I'm digging these improvements. Everything should just be in one place. It should've been in one place in the first place.

Yeah, Now that they're releasing something to fix the issues that we have on the social features is a good move.

Working on the social features is a plus. I didn't find them bad or terrible in the current state, but I wasn't particularly pleased with it. I just deal with it I guess. Could be better, no doubt.

lol I always saw updates that say "stability" as vague until I actually check into it and even then it's vague like "Fixes stability issues with X feature." and think "I didn't know there was even a problem with X feature, really."

Stability! Yes! Such a vague update. A placebo update would put people at ease because people would still say they don't notice any changes in whatever has been updated.

I remember getting the phantom occurrences of double voices occasionally. It was a problem when it happened on 360 and it was really annoying to me, but it didn't happen all that often.

Yeah I kind of wish companies like Micro would release their products more complete even if they have to iron out a few more bugs than they normaly would, because I hate when I am using something and it has features that are basically "under-construction". Though it is nice to see their actually doing something and not just leaving it.

Got that right. They should have checked everything out before the release to avoid these kinds of issues. They should have anticipated it earlier and had a solution right off the bat for it.

It really makes you think who in the developmental stage said "Let's not put all the social features in one location. Trust me, it'll be a game changer. It'll work."

One things for sure. They haven't checked everything before releasing it. I guess they were more concerned about the sales rather than how their customers will react if they find something not working or missing in the console. Whoever it is to blame, well it is too late. At least they are trying to correct it and they are very honest about it.

I haven't had a huge problem with the social features the way they are, but it's good to see Microsoft working on it. So thumbs up on that.

Good to know they're fixing up the social features. Already heard some bad rep about the social features so now at least Microsoft is addressing it.

Yup, agree with you there. Good to know Microsoft is doing something. Some of us may not have the problem but at least they can see it right away.

Well, good to know they're doing this. So when I finally get my hands on the Xbox One, I'll be doing social stuff without a problem. Sweet.,

It was the same person who said "Mattick's got this. Trust me, he's got this. E3 is in the bag."
