Xbox One Are launch Xbox One's Overheating?

Hmmm... I guess I don't have to worry about the overheating then. I'm just surprised by some of the posters here like sc_shark. I've read your stuff dood, and by golly, you've had that console of yours on the whole day? Yowza. My dad wouldn't let me have my PS3 on the whole day. PC is fine, but PS3 no. But good to know overheating isn't an issue here.

i am on workmans comp... work injury.. i dont really nothing else to do... its winter.. my boat is in storage and racing season is over..
i am basically getting payed to sit home and play games lol. not really but you get the idea.

ohh yea.. if you leave the system on and dont do anything for a long time it goes into sleep mode or standby on its own.

after some bf4 and ac4 i got on netflix last night for some "that 70 show" and ended up passing out about 3 episodes in.. i woke up and my tv was off and xbox one was off.. i dont really think turning the console off(holding white xbox button) physically turns the console off. it puts it in a sleep/standby mode. xbox smart glass does not see the console tho.. i tried to find it in sleep mode.

I accidentally left my Xbox-one over-night until the afternoon, where I found out I left it open. Thank god it didn't burn for heat up.

All right, so I'm curious but: anyone here have the issues of overheating? I've heard before in the previous gen (PS3/360/Wii) about overheating. I was supposed to get a 360 before but some of my friends discouraged me because of overheating. One of them lost their console due to overheating. So will the Xbox One overheat like its predecessor or not? Let me hear your thoughts on this.

I first setup my xbox one and stupidly put it on top of my cable box (which has no vents on top). This caused them both to just fill in the shelf under my TV. After about 10 hours of being on, the system started freezing up and stopped acknowledging voice commands. The xbox was hot, not warm, to the touch. I moved the setup so the xbox was by itself and when I did this, no overheating.

yea no harm at all or worry.. it stays on to a degree pulling updates/data and wirless even in sleep mode or "console off" has been verified by a member hear.

i think that is the only real way you can cause an issue with overheating. forcing heat on it with no way to escape.

at this point i think"knock on wood" i got a good unit.. havn't used kinect or even pulled it out of packaging. but past that been flawless minus the double dipping on the internet connection with downloading/gaming which ran fine it was my internet connection that took a tole. bf4 and killer i + mom pulling netflix on an ipad lol. lets say bf4 was very spotty and glitchy lol.

I used a Raytek minitemp gun to measuse the hottest spot threw the fan, 102 degrees F was the hottest. The power supply also runs very cool, I measure on the case 92 degrees. Kinect measured the hottest at 95 degrees. These are really cool temps and should help the X1 last a long time!

Tight fit but it looks good!

I need to clean up my desk, I got all the wiring behind there and noticed that my GTA V poster on the wall actually moves due to air being pushed out the back of the console....plus switching my X12's between the One & 360 is gonna pain in the near future.

I am still to get my hands on this console as it's not launchingg in my territory till 2014. What a pity!

This seems to be enough space:

Wow. Overheating definitely isn't an issue, from where you're putting the console. So as long as the console is in a neat and clean place, no worries about it. Just got to have nice cozy room, maybe some ventilation around and you got yourself a console that can stay on for a long time (and like sc_shark, for almost 32 hours. Amazing).

I wouldn't doubt it if they were overheating. They are doing a lot and will probably have to be well ventilated. A few of my friend's would put chillpads around their 360. I think I might try that idea.

all while in bed.. and yes the controler is normally on my system.. ive got this smart glass thing down lol.IMG_0639.jpg

I moved out a lot of the wires from behind/next to mine, only thing behind it directly is the cables for it and now it seems to vent a little better, seemed cooler than before.

I have been researching online about the Xbox one and I have never ever encountered a overheating problem. So most likely, you are safe from overheating and the problem should be off your mind! But if it does, feel free to contact Xbox one support as they can help you!

Voila! Wow, overheating doesn't seem to be an issue for you. Been reading a lot of your posts here. And you kept your console for 32 hours in that kind of environment?! Now you've proved a lot here. I'm sure the thread starter is already satisfied about this.
