Typically I'm not an achievement hunter, but I loved Skyrim so much that I forced myself to obtain all of the achievements. When I say I forced myself, it's not like it was something I didn't want to do. The game was so great, that I felt the need to do everything I possibly could. Granted some of the achievements weren't obtained until the second play through, I still broke my not caring about achievements attitude and followed through.
I think if you truly love a game, you're bound to achievement hunt. Their aren't a lot of games where it's something you'd even care to do as the game isn't great. But for me, that game alone forced me to do something I laughed at so many people for doing.
