Series X Assassins creed shadows

Hi everyone. Newbie here, wondered if anyone could shed a light on a little problem I've had. Played this game for a good few hours yesterday and got my level up from 10 to 15 and progressed quite a bit, but this morning when I restarted the game all my progress had disappeared and I'm starting again from where I did yesterday first thing. It automatically saved umpteen times. But there was no saves on it when I looked this morning. Don't know if this can be done but my stepson can access my account on his machine but he says he hasent been on my account. Thanks in advance
